Can this run Windows 11?
No. Two things rule it out: the 6th-generation processor is below Microsoft's supported CPU list, and the machine has TPM 1.2 rather than the TPM 2.0 that Windows 11 requires. It runs Windows 10 Pro, which is what it ships with.
Is the processor really quad-core?
Yes. The i5-6440HQ is a 45W H-series chip with four physical cores, unlike the 15W dual-core U-series processors common in business laptops of this age. It is the main reason to choose this configuration.
Can I add more memory?
Yes. The 8GB is one module in one of two SODIMM slots, so a second stick can be added without removing the first.
Is the SSD NVMe?
No — it is a 256GB M.2 SATA drive. Much faster than a hard disk, but not NVMe speed.
