Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1 Convertible Business Laptop — Core i5-8365U, 16GB RAM, 256GB NVMe SSD, 14" FHD Touch, Built-in 4G LTE, Windows 11 Home
Professionally refurbished by Reboot IT and backed by a 12-month warranty, this Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1 folds through a full 360 degrees to work as a laptop, tablet, tent or stand — and it has a Qualcomm 4G LTE modem built in, so it gets online without tethering. A 4-core Intel Core i5-8365U, 16GB of memory and a 256GB NVMe SSD drive a 14-inch Full HD anti-reflective touchscreen.
Why This One Is Different
-
Built-in 4G LTE mobile broadband: A Qualcomm Snapdragon X20 LTE-A modem is fitted. Put a SIM in and it is online anywhere with mobile coverage — no tethering, no hotspot, no flat phone battery. For field service, site visits, sales calls and travel this is the single most useful feature on the machine, and most laptops at this price do not have it.
-
Four ways to work: The 360 degree hinge means laptop mode at a desk, tablet mode for reading and signing, tent mode for showing a client the screen, and stand mode for presenting in a cramped space.
-
14" Full HD anti-reflective, anti-smudge touch: The anti-smudge coating matters on a device you will hold as a tablet, and the narrow-bezel SLP panel keeps the 14-inch screen in a compact footprint.
-
Genuinely light: Around 1.36kg and 15.7mm thick, so it carries all day without weighing down a bag.
-
Fingerprint reader and IR camera: Two Windows Hello sign-in options — a touch fingerprint reader in the palmrest, plus an infrared camera with a proximity sensor that wakes the machine as you approach and locks it as you walk away.
-
16GB RAM and a 256GB NVMe SSD: Enough memory to keep Microsoft 365, a video call and a busy browser session running together, with fast solid-state storage underneath.
Performance in Everyday Use
The Core i5-8365U is a four-core, eight-thread business processor that turbos to 4.10GHz. For the work most people actually do — email, Microsoft 365, browsing, video calls, line-of-business software and document handling — it is comfortably quick, and the 16GB of memory means you are not closing things to make room. The 256GB NVMe SSD boots Windows in seconds and opens applications near-instantly.
Where this machine genuinely stands apart is connectivity. With a SIM installed, the built-in LTE modem gives you a working internet connection in a car, on a site, in a client's office or on a train, without depending on a phone hotspot. Anyone who has tried to run a Teams call off a tethered phone in a carpark understands the difference. Combined with a device that folds into a tablet and weighs under 1.4kg, it is a genuinely mobile working setup rather than a laptop you happen to carry.
The touch and convertible experience earns its place too. Annotating a contract, signing a form on site, scrolling a long report, or handing it to someone in tent mode to review a document are all things a conventional clamshell cannot do. The anti-reflective, anti-smudge panel is specified for exactly that kind of handling.
Two things to be clear about, because they are not upgradeable later. First, the 16GB of LPDDR3 memory is soldered to the board — there is no free slot, so 16GB is permanent. It is a comfortable amount for business use, but if you expect to need 32GB, this is not the chassis. Second, this is a 2019 design, so wireless is Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac) rather than the Wi-Fi 6 found on newer machines. On a typical office or home network you will not notice; on a busy Wi-Fi 6 corporate network you may. There is also no built-in RJ45 Ethernet port — a USB-C adapter or dock covers that, and Thunderbolt 3 handles single-cable docking with external displays.

Is the Latitude 7400 2-in-1 Right for You?
✓ Best For: • Anyone who needs internet away from Wi-Fi — the LTE modem is the point • Field service, site visits, sales and consulting on the road • Handwritten notes, mark-ups and on-site form filling • One device instead of a laptop plus tablet • Office productivity across Microsoft 365 and the browser • Students wanting a light, flexible machine |
✗ Not Ideal For: • Anyone who will need 32GB — the 16GB is soldered • Users who need Wi-Fi 6 — this is a Wi-Fi 5 chassis • Virtual machines or very large datasets • PC gaming or 3D rendering • Sites requiring built-in wired Ethernet without an adapter • Very large local media libraries needing 1TB+ storage |

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the 4G LTE come with a SIM or data plan?
No. The Qualcomm Snapdragon X20 LTE-A modem is built in and ready to use, but you supply your own SIM and mobile data plan from any Australian carrier. Once a SIM is inserted, Windows treats it like any other network connection.
Can I upgrade the memory to 32GB later?
No. The 16GB of LPDDR3 is soldered directly to the mainboard with no spare slot, so 16GB is permanent. That is normal for a thin convertible of this generation. For Microsoft 365, browsing, Teams and general business work it is a comfortable amount.
Is this Wi-Fi 6?
No. This is a 2019 chassis with Qualcomm 802.11ac Wi-Fi 5. On a typical home or small-office network you are unlikely to notice any difference, but if you specifically need Wi-Fi 6 you should look at a newer model. The built-in 4G LTE is separate and works regardless.
What are the four modes actually useful for?
Laptop mode for normal typing at a desk. Tablet mode folds the keyboard flat behind the screen for reading, signing and note-taking. Tent mode stands it on its edges so you can show someone the screen across a table. Stand mode props the display up with the keyboard hidden, which suits video calls and presentations in tight spaces.
How do I sign in without a password?
Two ways. There is a touch fingerprint reader built into the palmrest, and an infrared camera that supports Windows Hello face recognition. The IR camera also has a proximity sensor, so the machine can wake as you sit down and lock when you walk away.
Is there an Ethernet port, and can I use a dock?
There is no built-in RJ45 port on this convertible chassis. Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C supports a single-cable dock carrying displays, network, peripherals and charging, and a simple USB-C to Ethernet adapter works if you only need wired networking.
Does it include a charger, and how is it shipped?
Yes, a 65W USB-C power adapter with an Australian power cord is included. Your order ships with free standard Australian shipping, carefully packaged and dispatched from our Melbourne facility.
