The i5-8250U is the processor that changed this class. Where earlier Latitudes in the 7000 series ran dual-core chips, the 8250U brought four cores and eight threads to 3.4GHz — roughly double the parallel throughput, and it shows whenever more than one thing is happening at once.
Paired with 16GB of memory and a 256GB SSD, this is a configuration that still holds up for daily business work. Boot and wake are immediate, applications launch without delay, and 16GB means the system is not swapping to disk when a browser session grows through the day.
The Full HD touchscreen suits client-facing work — signing, annotating, or handing the screen across a desk — and the carbon fibre chassis is built for the commute. Of the older machines in this group this is the one that remains a genuine primary laptop rather than a secondary or single-purpose unit. For sustained rendering or CAD, a mobile workstation with dedicated graphics is the right tool.

Is the battery replaced?
Batteries are tested, not automatically replaced. Grade A units hold 70% or more of original design capacity and Grade B units 50–70%. Every battery carries a 30-day warranty.
Is this supported for Windows 11?
Yes — the i5-8250U is 8th generation and on Microsoft's supported processor list, so the machine is licensed and eligible, and will continue receiving security updates.
Can I upgrade the memory or storage?
Storage is an accessible M.2 drive under the base panel and can be replaced with a larger drive. Memory configuration varies by board revision, so verify before purchasing modules.
Does the touchscreen support a stylus?
The panel is a capacitive touchscreen designed for finger input. It responds to a passive capacitive stylus, but there is no active pen digitiser in this model.
How does it compare to the older Latitudes in this range?
The 8th-generation quad-core processor is the key difference — roughly double the parallel performance of the dual-core 5th, 6th and 7th generation machines, and unlike those it remains supported for Windows 11.
Is the operating system genuine?
Yes. Windows 11 Pro is installed and activated against the licence embedded in the unit.
