Quietly unveiled, the MacBook Pro "Core i7" 2.2 GHz features a powerful 32 nm "Sandy Bridge" Intel "Core i7" processor (2675QM) with four independent cores, 6 MB shared level 3 cache, and 4 GB of 1333 MHz DDR3 SDRAM installed in pairs. It comes with a spacious 500 GB Serial ATA hard drive (5400 RPM) and includes an 8X DL "SuperDrive". The dual graphics processing capabilities include an AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 512 MB of dedicated GDDR5 memory alongside an Intel HD Graphics 3000 processor sharing 384 MB of memory, ensuring great visuals for any task. Additionally, it has an integrated FaceTime HD webcam for clear video conferencing.
The standard configuration features a 15.4" LED-backlit widescreen display with a glossy finish and a native resolution of 1440x900. Custom configurations include a "high-resolution glossy" 1680x1050 display and a "high-resolution antiglare" 1680x1050 display for an additional fee.
Connectivity options are extensive and include AirPort Extreme (802.11a/b/g/n), Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, Gigabit Ethernet, a Firewire "800" port, two USB 2.0 ports, separate audio in and out ports, an SDXC card slot, and a Thunderbolt port, which is backwards compatible with Mini DisplayPort. The Thunderbolt port supports external displays at 2560x1600 and transmits audio signals, offering up to 10 Gbps of bandwidth in both directions.
The MacBook Pro boasts a sleek "Unibody" aluminum case design, crafted from a single piece of aluminum, and features a backlit keyboard and a "no button" glass "inertial" multi-touch trackpad. Its non-swappable battery is designed to provide an estimated 7 hours of battery life.
