The iPhone 6 is a 2014 handset, and it is only fair to be direct about what that means in practice. It runs the last version of iOS that Apple released for it, and it no longer receives security updates or new features. Many current apps have raised their minimum iOS version beyond what it can run, so app availability is limited and will keep narrowing.
Within that, it still does the basics well. Calls, SMS, contacts, camera, music, maps and web browsing all work. The Touch ID sensor unlocks it, the 4G connection is fine for everyday data, and build quality is the aluminium unibody Apple was known for.
The 16GB storage is the tightest constraint — after the operating system there is limited room, so it suits someone who keeps few apps and photos, or who works mainly from cloud storage. It fits best as a backup or emergency handset, a first phone for a child, a dedicated music or car phone, a spare for travel, or a simple device for someone who wants calls and messages without a modern smartphone.

Is it network unlocked?
Yes — the handset is unlocked and will work with any Australian carrier. Just insert your SIM.
Does it still receive software updates?
No. Apple ended support for the iPhone 6, so it runs the last iOS version released for it and receives no further security updates. We would not recommend it for banking or other security-sensitive apps.
Will current apps work on it?
Some will, many will not. A growing number of apps require a newer iOS version than this handset can run, and that will continue. Treat app availability as limited.
Is 16GB of storage enough?
It is tight. After the operating system there is limited space, so it suits light use with few apps and photos, or someone working mainly from cloud storage.
What is the battery like?
Batteries are tested, not automatically replaced. Grade A handsets test at 80% health or better and Grade B at 70–80%. Every battery carries a 30-day warranty.
Is it Australian stock?
Yes — an AU-market handset, so it has the correct network band support for Australian carriers.
How is data from the previous owner handled?
Every device is wiped to a documented erasure standard before it is listed. Nothing from the prior owner remains.
