Is it locked to a particular carrier?

No. This unit is unlocked and will accept a data SIM from any provider. That is unusual for a secondhand FastMile — most were supplied by a telco and remain locked to that network, which makes them unusable on anything else.

Is a SIM card or data plan included?

No — you supply your own nano SIM and choose your own plan. Since the gateway is unlocked, you are free to shop around for whichever provider offers the best coverage and value at your address.

What speeds should I expect?

That depends on the 5G coverage at your address, how busy the local cell is, and where in the building you place the unit — fixed wireless varies far more than a fixed line does. Check your carrier's coverage map for your address before ordering, and use the built-in alignment feature to find the best spot once it arrives.

Where is the best place to put it?

Usually a window, as high as practical, on the side of the building facing the nearest tower. You do not have to guess: the gateway measures signal strength as you move it and indicates when you have found the strongest position.

What if there is no 5G where I am?

It falls back to 4G LTE automatically. You will not get 5G speeds, but it will still work as a router and share the connection over Wi-Fi and Ethernet.

Can I connect devices by cable?

Yes — there are three Gigabit Ethernet ports on the back for anything you would rather wire than put on Wi-Fi, plus a 2.5 Gigabit WAN port and a USB 3.0 port.

What is in the box?

The gateway and its power adapter, in the original Nokia box, plus a tax invoice. No SIM card is supplied.
