The ThinkStation P500 Tower Workstation from Lenovo is a high-performance system with fast processing that was designed for architects, product designers, financial traders, medical and research professionals, software designers, and engineers. Additionally, it is also well suited for those who work with intensive graphics, multimedia tasks, and gaming.
The system is powered by a 3.7 GHz Intel Xeon E5-1630 v3 Quad-Core processor which will allow you to run multiple applications simultaneously. If you need more power, the CPU can be overclocked to 3.8 GHz. The built-in 32GB of 2133 MHz PC4-17000 DDR4 SDRAM allows the computer to quickly access frequently-used files and programs. The RAM is installed in a 4 x 8GB configuration with an additional 4 slots available, for a total of 8 x RDIMM memory slots. These eight slots are capable of supporting a total of 128GB of RAM, or 16GB per slot. The system memory also features ECC technology which can help detect and correct the most common kinds of internal data corruption.
For long term storage of your files, a 500GB 7200 rpm 3.5" hard drive offers quick access to your files. For reading and writing data stored on optical media, a 16x SuperMulti DVD-RW DL burner is built-in. External peripherals, such as additional storage, optical drives, printers, and more may be connected using the 8 x USB 3.0 ports and 4 x USB 2.0 ports. Internal expansion is also possible, as there are a total of six PCI/PCIe expansion slots as well as 4 x 3.5" internal bays and 2 x 5.25" external bays. There is also a built-in 9-in-1 memory card reader that will allow users to read and write to various memory card formats, including MS, MS Pro, SD, SDHC, SDXC, MMC, CF I, CF II, and MD.
The dedicated NVIDIA Quadro FX380 is designed to deliver a sharp, clear picture while allowing for a wide range of monitors to be used. The installed operating system is Windows 10 Professional (64-bit).
