What is a refurbished device?
A refurbished device is a pre-owned item that has been restored to meet high-quality standards. At Reboot IT, we adhere to strict quality guidelines, ensuring that our refurbished products are not the same as used or secondhand items. We meticulously clean, test, and assess each device, replacing worn parts with high-quality components.
Unlike used items, which lack guarantees and rely solely on the seller's word regarding condition, refurbished devices come with assurance of quality and reliability.
What payment options are available?
We offer a variety of payment options to make your shopping experience as convenient as possible! You can pay using all major credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, Afterpay, Zip Pay, and PayPal. If you prefer, we also accept bank deposits and even cash for in-store purchases!

A slim, lightweight 14-inch ThinkPad with a quad-core Intel Core i5-8365U (8th Gen) vPro processor, 16GB DDR4 RAM, a 256GB NVMe SSD, a Full HD IPS display and Windows 11 Pro. Professionally refurbished by Reboot IT and backed by a 12-month warranty.
The T490s is Lenovo’s slim version of the T-series, and it is quick in everyday use. The quad-core Core i5-8365U has twice the cores of older dual-core business laptops, so Microsoft 365, a full browser, Teams and a large spreadsheet can run together without slowing down. 16GB of DDR4 memory gives it the headroom to stay responsive through a busy day.
The 256GB NVMe SSD starts Windows 11 Pro in seconds and keeps applications snappy. The 14-inch Full HD IPS screen is sharp and clear from wide angles, which makes it pleasant for documents, spreadsheets and video meetings. The 720p webcam includes a ThinkShutter privacy cover.
At a desk, the Thunderbolt 3 port can drive a dock with external monitors, wired networking and peripherals through a single cable, and both USB-C ports support charging. On the move, the thin, light chassis and the ThinkPad keyboard with TrackPoint make it comfortable to work anywhere. Note that the T490s has no full-size Ethernet socket: wired networking uses Lenovo’s Ethernet extension adapter, a dock or a USB adapter (not included).

| Grade | Cosmetic Condition | Battery Health |
|---|---|---|
| A – Excellent | Minimal signs of previous use; may show faint marks on close inspection. | 70%+ |
| B – Good | Light cosmetic wear such as minor scratches or scuffs from normal business use. Fully functional. | 50–70% |
Grade describes cosmetic appearance only – every unit passes the same functional testing and carries the same 12-month warranty. Battery is a consumable: expect 70%+ battery health for Grade A and 50–70% for Grade B, with a 30-day battery warranty.
Can I upgrade the RAM?
No. The T490s has its memory soldered to the system board with no memory slots, so the 16GB installed is fixed. The M.2 SSD can be replaced with a larger drive.
Does it run Windows 11?
Yes. It ships with Windows 11 Pro 64-bit, and the 8th Gen Core i5-8365U is supported by Windows 11.
Does it have an Ethernet port?
Not a full-size one. Gigabit Ethernet is available through Lenovo’s Ethernet extension adapter, a compatible dock or a USB Ethernet adapter, none of which are included.
Can I connect external monitors?
Yes – via HDMI and either USB-C port, which both carry DisplayPort video. A Thunderbolt 3 dock can drive multiple displays.
Does it charge via USB-C?
Yes. Both USB-C ports support Power Delivery charging.
What warranty is included?
A 12-month Reboot IT warranty covering hardware faults, plus a 30-day battery warranty.
Is shipping included?
Yes – this item ships with free standard AU shipping, dispatched from our Melbourne warehouse.
