Which version of Windows is installed?
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. Microsoft ended standard Windows 10 support in October 2025, so check Microsoft’s Extended Security Updates options if you need ongoing security patches.
Can it be upgraded to Windows 11?
No. The Intel Core i5-6300U is a 6th Gen processor and is not on Microsoft’s supported processor list for Windows 11.
What does W10DG mean in the title?
It is part of Lenovo’s model description for this T470 configuration, which was supplied with Windows 10 Pro downgrade rights. It does not change the hardware.
Can I add more RAM?
Both SO-DIMM slots are already filled with 16GB in total. The T470 supports up to 32GB by replacing the modules with larger ones.
Can I connect an external monitor?
Yes – via HDMI or via the Thunderbolt 3 / USB-C port, which supports DisplayPort video.
