The IdeaPad 100S is powered by the Intel Celeron N3060 — a dual-core 1.6 GHz processor (burst to 2.48 GHz) designed for light, everyday tasks. It handles web browsing, email, YouTube, basic documents and light streaming without trouble. Keep browser tabs to a manageable count and avoid running heavy software simultaneously and it performs reliably for its purpose.
The 64GB eMMC is the key upgrade over older HDD-based budget machines. Boot times are shorter, the system feels more responsive opening files, and day-to-day use is noticeably smoother. Storage is limited — if you plan to store many photos, videos or large files locally, an external USB drive is recommended.
The 14-inch HD panel (1366×768) is clear and serviceable for everyday use. Viewing angles are moderate (TN panel), but for web browsing, video calls and document work it delivers what you need. This is an honest entry-level machine: ideal as a secondary laptop, kids’ homework device, or a dedicated single-purpose computer — not a primary workstation for demanding users.

What OS can I install?
Windows 10 (Home or Pro), Linux (Ubuntu, Mint, etc.) and ChromeOS Flex all work well. Note: the Celeron N3060 does not meet Windows 11 minimum hardware requirements, so Windows 10 or Linux is recommended.
Can I upgrade the RAM or storage?
The RAM is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be upgraded. The 64GB eMMC is also fixed. For more storage, use an external USB drive or an SD card.
Does it have an Ethernet port?
No — the IdeaPad 100S uses WiFi only. A USB-to-Ethernet adapter works if you need a wired connection.
What warranty is included?
12-month Reboot IT return-to-base warranty covering hardware defects. Grade B units include a 30-day battery warranty; Grade A includes battery warranty for 12 months.

Is 64GB enough storage?

Fair tech for price, good specs for era, serves the purpose. The black keyboard is an interesting rubber like texture clearly by design to pad the screen and avoid the keyboard touching. Screen is great. Still looking for magic formula to enable computer use in the bright bright sunshine. Keyboard taps are loud for someone who likes silent touch. The perfect PC has to exist, like build a bear.
The laptop was sold with a warning about worn keycaps. In fact they had been obviously vandalised (ex school laptops, perhaps?). The keyboard worked fine, and the rest of the laptop too. I'm using it as a file server, so I don't need the keyboard much. So very pleased, and also pleased with reboot-it's service - as always, excellent, and quick responses to any queries.
