HP EliteBook 840 G7 — 14" Full HD Business Ultrabook
A professionally refurbished HP EliteBook 840 G7 running an Intel Core i7-10510U with 8GB of DDR4 memory and a 256GB NVMe SSD, behind a 14" 1920 × 1080 Full HD display and Windows 11 Pro. Tested, cleaned and graded in our Melbourne workshop, and backed by a 12-month Reboot IT warranty.
Key benefits
-
Quad-core 10th Gen Intel power — the Core i7-10510U pairs four cores and eight threads with a 4.9GHz max turbo, so heavy spreadsheets, large browser sessions and video calls all stay responsive.
-
Fast NVMe storage — the 256GB NVMe SSD boots Windows in seconds and opens applications far quicker than the SATA drives found in older business laptops.
-
Sharp 14" Full HD screen — 1920 × 1080 gives you genuine side-by-side window space for documents, email and a browser without squinting.
-
Genuinely portable — a slim machined-aluminium chassis around 1.4kg that drops into a backpack and lasts a working day away from a power point.
-
Business-grade security — fingerprint reader, TPM 2.0 and a physical webcam privacy shutter come standard on the EliteBook line.
-
Windows 11 Pro, activated — ready for BitLocker, Remote Desktop and domain or Azure AD join straight out of the box.
Performance in use
For everyday office work this machine simply gets out of the way. Twenty or thirty browser tabs, Outlook, Teams and a couple of Office documents open together is a normal Tuesday for the i7-10510U, and the NVMe SSD means the slow patches you remember from older hardware — waiting on a login, waiting on a large PDF, waiting on a file save — largely disappear. Cold boot to desktop is typically well under thirty seconds.
The 8GB of memory is the honest limit here. It comfortably covers browsing, Microsoft 365, accounting packages, remote desktop sessions and video conferencing. If your day involves 50-plus tabs alongside a virtual machine or large Photoshop files, you will feel the ceiling — that is a job for a 16GB machine. For the vast majority of business and study workloads, 8GB with fast NVMe swap is more than adequate.
Away from the desk it holds up well. The 53Wh battery, a full-size backlit keyboard and a genuinely good glass touchpad make it a comfortable machine to work on for hours in a meeting room or at a kitchen table. Integrated Intel UHD graphics drive the internal panel plus external monitors over USB-C or HDMI, so a two-screen desk setup is a single cable away with a dock.

Condition grades
| Grade |
What to expect |
| A — Excellent |
Near-new cosmetic condition. Minimal marks, no significant scratches or dents. Screen free of blemishes. Battery holds 70% or more of its original capacity. |
| B — Good |
Light cosmetic wear consistent with normal business use — minor scuffs or scratches on the lid or palm rest. Fully functional with a clear screen. Battery holds 50–70% of its original capacity. |
Every unit is functionally tested to the same standard regardless of grade — the grade describes cosmetic condition and battery health only. Batteries are consumable items and carry a 30-day warranty.
Frequently asked questions
Is Windows 11 Pro genuine and already installed?
Yes. Windows 11 Pro is installed and activated with a genuine licence. The machine arrives at the out-of-box setup screen, so you create your own user account and the laptop is ready to use in a few minutes.
Can I upgrade the RAM or storage later?
The EliteBook 840 G7 uses soldered memory, so the 8GB cannot be increased. Storage is a standard M.2 NVMe SSD and can be swapped for a larger drive, though doing so yourself may affect the warranty on that component — talk to us first and we can often supply the machine with a larger drive fitted.
What condition will the battery be in?
Grade A units carry a battery at 70% or more of original capacity; Grade B units are between 50% and 70%. Every battery is tested before dispatch and covered by a 30-day warranty. Replacement batteries for this model are readily available if you want more runtime later.
What is included in the box?
The laptop and a compatible power adapter. Original packaging, manuals and accessories such as docks or carry cases are not included unless listed separately.
Can it run two external monitors?
Yes. The two Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports and HDMI 2.0 output support multiple external displays, either directly or through a USB-C dock. It is a common desk setup for this model.
How much is shipping and how fast is dispatch?
Free standard shipping within Australia. Orders placed before our afternoon cut-off are typically dispatched the same business day from our Melbourne warehouse, with tracking emailed once your order leaves us.
What happens if something goes wrong?
Contact us and we will sort it out. The laptop is covered by a 12-month return-to-base warranty. If a fault appears we repair, replace or refund — and our workshop is staffed by the same technicians who tested the unit in the first place.
