In a VMware vSAN cluster, two or more XC430 nodes pool their storage and compute resources into a single, resilient datastore. With 128GB DDR4 ECC RAM per node, this platform supports meaningful VM density for SMB or branch-office virtualisation workloads.
The Xeon E5-2609 V4 delivers 8 physical cores at 1.7GHz — suited to virtualised environments where consistent throughput across many VMs matters more than peak single-thread speed. Paired with 6TB of SAS storage, this node provides a practical starting point for a vSAN or Nutanix cluster, or can be added to an existing cluster to scale capacity and compute.
The 1U form factor, hot-swap drives, redundant PSU, and 10GbE networking make this server a practical choice for data centres and colocation environments. iDRAC8 allows full remote management without needing physical access to the rack.

Fair tech for price, good specs for era, serves the purpose. The black keyboard is an interesting rubber like texture clearly by design to pad the screen and avoid the keyboard touching. Screen is great. Still looking for magic formula to enable computer use in the bright bright sunshine. Keyboard taps are loud for someone who likes silent touch. The perfect PC has to exist, like build a bear.

Works excellently as advertised.
The laptop was sold with a warning about worn keycaps. In fact they had been obviously vandalised (ex school laptops, perhaps?). The keyboard worked fine, and the rest of the laptop too. I'm using it as a file server, so I don't need the keyboard much. So very pleased, and also pleased with reboot-it's service - as always, excellent, and quick responses to any queries.
