Dell Precision 3571 — 15.6" Mobile Workstation with RTX A1000
A certified refurbished mobile workstation with the fourteen-core Intel Core i7-12800H vPro, 32GB of DDR5 memory, a 512GB Gen 4 NVMe SSD and NVIDIA RTX A1000 professional graphics. Covered by a 12-month Reboot IT warranty.
Read this first: no webcam
This unit is supplied with no webcam fitted — a common specification for secure and government environments. Everything else is standard. If you need video calling, an external USB camera is required.
Key benefits
-
Fourteen cores from a hybrid 12th-gen chip — Six performance cores and eight efficiency cores, twenty threads in total, boosting to 4.8GHz at 45W. Background builds and renders no longer stall the foreground.
-
NVIDIA RTX A1000 professional graphics — 4GB GDDR6 with ISV certification for CAD, BIM and DCC software. The certification is what those vendors support, and a consumer card is not on that list.
-
DDR5 memory — 32GB of DDR5 SODIMM, a substantial bandwidth step over the DDR4 in the previous generation, and user-upgradeable.
-
Fast Gen 4 storage — 512GB on a PCIe Gen 4 x4 NVMe drive, roughly double the sequential throughput of a Gen 3 equivalent.
-
Lighter than most workstations — At around 1.83kg the 3571 is genuinely portable for its class, where 15.6" workstations often exceed 2.5kg.
-
Large battery — A 97Wh pack, at the airline carry-on limit and the largest Dell fits to this chassis.
Performance in use
The Precision 3571 sits at the accessible end of Dell's workstation range, and the 12th-generation silicon inside it changed what that means. The i7-12800H is a hybrid design — six performance cores plus eight efficiency cores — giving fourteen cores and twenty threads in a 45W envelope. In practice the efficiency cores absorb background work, so a long compile or export stops interfering with whatever you are doing in the foreground.
The RTX A1000 is the entry point of NVIDIA's professional line rather than the top of it, and it is well matched to this chassis: enough for modelling, drafting, BIM coordination and GPU-accelerated viewport work, without the thermal demands that push a machine into the heavier 7000-series bracket. Paired with 32GB of DDR5 and a Gen 4 drive, the whole configuration is balanced rather than lopsided.
The display is the honest compromise. At 250 nits and standard gamut it is a working panel, not a colour-critical one — fine for CAD, drafting and general engineering, less suited to grading or print work. If colour accuracy is the priority, the 7000-series machines with their 500-nit DCI-P3 panels are the better fit.

All batteries carry a 30-day warranty.
What we check before it is listed
Every machine through our Melbourne workshop is powered up and tested component by component, with the results recorded against its serial number.
-
Hardware scan — processor, memory, storage, display panel, graphics and wireless identified and verified per serial number.
-
Discrete graphics — the RTX A1000 is detected and tested under load.
-
Storage health — SMART data read from the drive; drives showing early warning signs are replaced rather than listed.
-
Battery condition — measured against design capacity and recorded as a percentage.
-
Secure data erasure — every drive wiped to recognised data destruction standards before reimaging.
-
Functional testing — keyboard, trackpad, ports, microphone, speakers, wireless and display each checked by hand. The absence of a webcam on this unit is recorded, not overlooked.
Frequently asked questions
Does it have a webcam?
No. This unit is supplied camera-free, which is a common specification for secure and government deployments. An external USB camera is required for video calls.
What does fourteen cores actually mean here?
The i7-12800H is a hybrid processor: six performance cores for demanding work and eight efficiency cores for background tasks, twenty threads in total.
Can I upgrade the memory and storage?
Yes to both. The memory is DDR5 SODIMM rather than soldered, and the M.2 drive is replaceable.
Is the screen touch or high brightness?
Neither. It is a 15.6" FHD anti-glare non-touch panel at 250 nits — a solid working display rather than a colour-critical one.
Will it run professional CAD software?
Yes. The RTX A1000 carries ISV certification, which is the support requirement for applications such as SolidWorks, Revit and AutoCAD.
What is included in the box?
The laptop, a compatible power adapter and a tax invoice. Original packaging, manuals and accessories are not included unless specifically noted.
