The Core i5-6300U is a dual-core, four-thread processor at up to 3.0GHz with vPro support. It handles Microsoft 365, browsing, email and video calls comfortably, though it will show its limits under heavy parallel workloads.
The 256GB SSD is what keeps it feeling current — boot, wake and application launch happen without the pauses that define an older mechanical-drive machine. Combined with the Full HD screen, this is a machine that does ordinary office work genuinely well.
Because the i5-6300U is 6th generation it is not supported for Windows 11, and Windows 10 security updates have now ended. That makes it best suited to internally-managed, offline or single-purpose roles — a study or home machine, a site or workshop unit, or a low-cost fleet behind a managed network.

Is the battery replaced?
Batteries are tested, not automatically replaced. Grade A units hold 70% or more of original design capacity and Grade B units 50–70%. Every battery carries a 30-day warranty.
Why Windows 10 rather than Windows 11?
The Intel Core i5-6300U is not on Microsoft's supported processor list for Windows 11, so Windows 10 Pro is the correct and stable choice for this hardware. Microsoft security updates for Windows 10 have now ended, so this suits offline, single-purpose or internally-managed roles rather than general internet-facing use.
Can I upgrade the memory or storage?
Yes — the E7470 has accessible memory slots and an M.2 drive bay under the base panel, so both can be increased.
Is the screen Full HD?
Yes — this configuration has a 14 inch 1920 x 1080 panel, not the lower-resolution 1366 x 768 option also sold in this range.
What is it genuinely good for?
Office work, browsing, email and video calls, especially as a second machine or in a single-purpose role. It is not a machine for heavy multitasking or creative work.
Is the operating system genuine?
Yes. Windows 10 Pro is installed and activated against the licence embedded in the unit.
