This board suits the Dell Latitude 7280 in the USB-C, TPM-equipped configuration. Because the i5-7300U is soldered in place, the board and processor are a single unit: a replacement must match the CPU you intend the machine to run, and this one is the i5-7300U. Verify the part number on your existing board reads GDK56 before ordering.
A motherboard replacement is the usual answer to liquid damage, a failed port bank, or a board that no longer posts, where the rest of the machine — screen, chassis, keyboard, battery — is sound. For an IT department holding several 7280s, keeping a known-good board on the shelf turns a dead unit back into a working one in an afternoon.
Note that the i5-7300U is a 7th Generation processor and is not supported for Windows 11. A machine rebuilt on this board should run Windows 10, which remains appropriate for offline, kiosk, point-of-sale and controlled-fleet roles.

Each board is fitted to a donor Latitude 7280 chassis and powered up before grading. We confirm the board posts, trains memory correctly and reaches the BIOS; verify the processor is recognised and clocks correctly; exercise the USB Type-C port for data, video and power delivery; check the USB-A ports, audio and video output; confirm the TPM is present and reports a healthy state; and verify the Wi-Fi antenna connections. The BIOS is then reset to factory defaults with any prior owner passwords cleared.
Supplied as the bare board only. Memory, storage, heatsink, fan, battery, wireless card and all cables are not included — reuse the parts from your existing machine. Installation is not included and should be carried out by an experienced technician.
