No. This listing is for the hardware only. Meraki appliances require an active Enterprise or Advanced Security licence purchased from Cisco or a Cisco partner. Without a licence the appliance cannot be configured and will not pass traffic.

Will it work at all without a licence?

No, and this is important to understand before ordering. Unlike a traditional firewall, a Meraki appliance is not usable as a standalone device. It must be claimed into a Meraki dashboard organisation with a valid licence before it will function.

Has the unit been unclaimed from its previous owner?

How do I add it to my network?

You add the serial number to your Meraki dashboard organisation, apply a licence, then configure it in the browser. The appliance downloads its configuration once it reaches the internet.

What size site is the MX100 intended for?

Can I use it as a lab or spare unit?
