Does this switch supply PoE?

No. The SG110D-08 has no Power over Ethernet. Cisco's PoE version of the same switch is the SG110D-08HP, which is a separate model. Every device connected to this switch needs its own power supply.

Do I need to configure it?

No. It is unmanaged and works out of the box. There is no software to install, no IP address to set and no web interface. Each port negotiates its own speed and duplex automatically.

Can I create VLANs on it?

No. VLANs, SNMP, port mirroring and spanning tree control all need a managed or smart managed switch. This is the unmanaged tier.

Is it noisy?

No. It is fanless, so it is completely silent and suits reception areas, meeting rooms and classrooms.

Will it slow my network down?

No. All eight ports are full Gigabit and the 16 Gbps switching capacity is enough for every port to run at full speed in both directions simultaneously.

Does it have fibre or SFP ports?
