What is a refurbished device?
A refurbished device is a pre-owned item that has been restored to meet high-quality standards. At Reboot IT, we adhere to strict quality guidelines, ensuring that our refurbished products are not the same as used or secondhand items. We meticulously clean, test, and assess each device, replacing worn parts with high-quality components.
Unlike used items, which lack guarantees and rely solely on the seller's word regarding condition, refurbished devices come with assurance of quality and reliability.
What payment options are available?
We offer a variety of payment options to make your shopping experience as convenient as possible! You can pay using all major credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, Afterpay, Zip Pay, and PayPal. If you prefer, we also accept bank deposits and even cash for in-store purchases!
We ensure secure processing of your payment information and do not retain or have access to your credit card details.
A dual-WAN Cisco 887 series router pairing a VDSL2/ADSL2+ broadband port with an integrated 4G LTE modem, so a branch site can fail over to mobile when the fixed line drops. Backed by a 12-month Reboot IT warranty. Please note this unit is supplied without a power adapter.
The reason this model still sells is failover. A single-WAN router turns a broadband outage into a closed shop; the 887VAG carries a second, physically independent path over the mobile network. Put a data SIM in one of the two sockets, configure the backup route in IOS, and an outage on the fixed line becomes a brief slowdown rather than a day of downtime. For a retail counter, a clinic or an unattended site running EFTPOS or telemetry, that is the whole value proposition.
The xDSL side supports VDSL2 and ADSL2+, which matters mostly for legacy and regional connections. If your site has already been cut over to an NBN service handing off Ethernet, you would typically ignore the DSL port entirely and use the router for its LAN switching, firewalling and LTE backup instead.
As with the rest of the 800 series, the ceiling here is throughput. The LAN and WAN Ethernet interfaces are 10/100, and IPsec encryption consumes CPU on top of that. This is a router for reliability and reach at a small site, not for pushing a fast fibre service. Match it to the job and it is a genuinely useful piece of kit; expect gigabit performance and it will disappoint.

|---|---|

| ✓ Retail, EFTPOS and unattended locations | ✗ Anyone needing built-in Wi-Fi for clients |
| ✓ Regional sites still served by ADSL2+ or VDSL2 | ✗ Sites requiring current Cisco TAC support |
| ✓ Out-of-band management over 4G | ✗ Users expecting a SIM or data plan included |
| ✓ Cisco IOS lab work with a cellular interface | ✗ Deployments needing a supplied power adapter |
| Grade | What to expect |
|---|---|
| A – Excellent | Minimal cosmetic marks. Light surface scuffs or faint rack rash may be present on the chassis. Fully tested and functional. |
| B – Good | Light to moderate cosmetic wear — scratches, scuffs, rack marks or faded labelling. Fully tested and functional. |
Both grades are functionally identical. Grading reflects cosmetic condition only — every unit is tested to the same standard before it leaves our Melbourne workshop.
Is a power adapter included?
No. As stated in the listing title, this unit ships without a power adapter. You will need to source the correct Cisco 887 series supply separately.
Is a SIM card or data plan included?
No. The router has two mini 2FF SIM sockets, so it can hold services from two carriers, but you supply your own SIMs and data plans.
Does it have Wi-Fi?
No. This model has a 4G LTE cellular radio, not a wireless LAN radio. Clients connect by cable, or you can add a separate access point to a LAN port.
Will the 4G work on Australian networks?
The -GA variant covers LTE bands 1, 3, 7, 8 and 20 — that is 2100, 1800, 2600, 900 and 800 MHz — and Cisco lists Australia as a supported region. Band support still depends on your carrier, so confirm compatibility with them before purchase.
Do I need the DSL port if I am on NBN?
Not usually. Most NBN services hand off Ethernet, in which case you would use the Ethernet WAN path and keep the LTE modem for backup.
Is it configured, or does it arrive blank?
It arrives factory reset. Configuring dual WAN failover requires console or SSH access and working knowledge of Cisco IOS.
What warranty is included?
Every unit carries a 12-month warranty from Reboot IT, return to base, covering hardware faults. If it fails within the warranty period we repair or replace it.
Do you ship Australia-wide?
Yes. This item ships from our Melbourne warehouse to anywhere in Australia. Shipping costs apply based on size and destination — rates are calculated at checkout.
