Performance In Use

The GL2460 is a straightforward, reliable 24-inch office panel. Full HD at this size renders text at native scale, so spreadsheets, email and line-of-business applications stay crisp without Windows scaling. For admin, accounts and general office roles it is the standard screen size most staff are comfortable working on all day.

The 2 ms response time is quicker than most panels in this bracket. It will not turn a business monitor into a gaming display, but it does keep fast-scrolling documents, video playback and dragged windows free of the smearing that slower budget panels show.

The important thing to plan around is the stand. This unit ships as the panel only, so it needs a VESA arm, wall bracket or an existing stand you already have. That suits multi-screen trading-style desks, wall-mounted signage and dashboards, and organisations that already standardised on monitor arms — you get the panel at a lower cost and skip hardware you would otherwise discard.

As a TN panel it trades viewing angle and colour accuracy for speed and cost. For text, spreadsheets and line-of-business applications viewed straight on it performs well, but it is not the right choice for colour-critical creative work or for screens that several people view from an angle at once.

Connectivity & Mounting

Two video inputs are provided: DVI and VGA (D-Sub). DVI is the one to use where available, carrying a clean digital 1920x1080 signal from business desktops and docking stations. VGA is analogue and remains useful for legacy PCs, KVM switches and thin clients, though text will look marginally softer than over the digital link.

There is no HDMI input and no built-in speakers on this model. If your device only outputs HDMI, an inexpensive HDMI-to-DVI cable will drive the panel with no loss of quality at this resolution. Audio needs to come from your PC or a separate set of speakers.

Mounting is via the standard 100 x 100 mm VESA pattern. That covers the vast majority of desk arms, wall brackets, multi-monitor poles and trolley mounts. Before ordering, check that your arm is rated for the weight of a 24-inch panel and that you have the four M4 screws — most arms include them. If you are replacing a failed monitor that is already on an arm, this unit will bolt straight onto the existing mount.

Choosing The Right Mount

Since this unit is supplied without a stand, the mount is the decision to get right. For a single screen on a desk, a gas-spring monitor arm that clamps to the desk edge is the most flexible option — it frees the desk surface underneath and lets you reposition the panel through the day. Check the arm’s stated weight range covers a 24-inch panel; almost all do, but very light arms intended for tablets do not.

For two or more screens, a dual or triple arm on a single pole keeps alignment tidy and costs less than separate arms. If the screens are for a dashboard, reception display or workshop terminal, a fixed wall bracket is cheaper and more secure than an arm, and removes the risk of the panel being knocked.

Whichever you choose, it needs the standard 100 x 100 mm VESA pattern and four M4 screws, which are normally supplied with the mount. If you are swapping out a failed monitor, the existing arm or bracket will almost certainly fit — 100 x 100 mm has been the standard on business panels of this size for well over a decade.

How We Refurbish

Every monitor that passes through our Melbourne workshop follows the same process. The unit is powered up and run through a full-screen test pattern sequence to check for dead and stuck pixels, backlight bleed and uniformity across the panel. Each video input is tested individually with a live signal — a port that does not pass a clean image fails the unit.

The VESA mounting points are inspected for thread damage, the housing is cleaned, and the on-screen display and control buttons are verified. Only then is the monitor assigned a cosmetic grade and listed. Anything that cannot be brought to a saleable standard is stripped for parts or recycled rather than sold on.
