The Fortinet FortiGate 200D (FG-200D) is a 1U rackmount network security appliance with 16 GbE RJ45 ports and 2 SFP uplinks. FortiASIC hardware acceleration delivers stateful firewall, IPsec VPN, and SSL-VPN performance suited to SMB perimeter and branch office security deployments. Backed by a 12-month Reboot IT warranty.

Note: The FG-200D is end-of-life (EOL) from Fortinet, meaning FortiGuard UTM subscription renewals (IPS, AV, web filtering, application control) are no longer available from Fortinet. The device remains fully functional as a stateful packet inspection firewall, router, IPsec VPN concentrator, and SSL-VPN gateway without active subscriptions. Suitable for firewall/VPN use cases or lab environments.

The FortiGate 200D works well in environments needing stateful firewall segmentation and VPN without an ongoing subscription cost. A typical deployment uses it as a perimeter firewall between WAN and LAN/DMZ, with IPsec tunnels for remote sites and SSL-VPN for travelling staff. With 16 GbE ports, multiple physical security zones (WAN, trust, untrust, DMZ, management) can each occupy dedicated interfaces without requiring 802.1Q VLAN trunking.

For lab environments, network training, or home-lab FortiOS practice, the FG-200D provides a full FortiOS experience with GUI, CLI, and FortiOS scripting. EOL status means firmware updates from Fortinet are discontinued — factor this into any production security posture assessment.

Fair tech for price

Fair tech for price, good specs for era, serves the purpose. The black keyboard is an interesting rubber like texture clearly by design to pad the screen and avoid the keyboard touching. Screen is great. Still looking for magic formula to enable computer use in the bright bright sunshine. Keyboard taps are loud for someone who likes silent touch. The perfect PC has to exist, like build a bear.

Works excellently as advertised.

The laptop was sold with a warning about worn keycaps. In fact they had been obviously vandalised (ex school laptops, perhaps?). The keyboard worked fine, and the rest of the laptop too. I'm using it as a file server, so I don't need the keyboard much. So very pleased, and also pleased with reboot-it's service - as always, excellent, and quick responses to any queries.
