⚠ Critical Before Ordering:
Non-Touch models only. This panel uses a 30-pin eDP connector and is strictly for non-touch configurations. Touch-enabled models use a 40-pin connector and a different panel — these are not interchangeable. Fitting a non-touch panel to a touch chassis will result in a non-functional display.
Verify your connector pin count before ordering. Check the existing display cable in your laptop or your Dell service tag configuration to confirm non-touch.

Will this screen fit my Dell Precision 3550?
Yes — provided your Precision 3550 has a non-touch display. The KFMYW is the standard OEM FHD non-touch panel for the Precision 3550. If your original screen is touch-enabled, this panel is not compatible. Check your Dell service tag or the existing display cable pin count (30-pin = non-touch, 40-pin = touch).
Do I need any special tools or cables to install this screen?
No additional cables or adapters are required. The existing 30-pin eDP display cable in your laptop connects directly to this panel. You will need a small Phillips-head screwdriver (PH0 or PH00) and a plastic pry tool to remove the display bezel. Dell's service manual for the Precision 3550 provides full step-by-step guidance.
Is this a genuine Dell OEM part?
Yes. This is sold under the genuine Dell part number KFMYW / 0KFMYW. The underlying panel is manufactured by Innolux (model N156HCA-E5A) — the same OEM supplier Dell uses in original production units. Dell sources this part from multiple OEM panel manufacturers; the displayed specs and physical dimensions are identical across all variants.
What if the screen is blank after installation?
A completely blank screen is most commonly caused by the eDP cable not being fully seated. Power down, carefully reseat the 30-pin connector ensuring it is square and fully clicked in, and retry before assuming the panel is faulty. Also confirm the display cable bracket screws are reinstalled, as a loose bracket can allow the connector to partially disengage.
Can this panel replace screens on other Dell models?

Is this screen suitable for upgrading from a lower-spec panel?
Yes, provided the machine has a 30-pin eDP cable fitted. Some base-specification Precision 3550 units shipped with a TN panel — replacing with this IPS panel is a direct upgrade for colour accuracy and viewing angles. No driver or BIOS changes are required.
This replacement LCD panel is covered by a 3-month warranty from Reboot IT against manufacturing defects and dead-on-arrival faults. The warranty covers panel defects including dead pixels (above manufacturer threshold), backlight failure, and connector faults under normal operating conditions.
Physical damage caused during installation, incorrect fitting to incompatible hardware (e.g. touch chassis), or damage from electrostatic discharge is not covered. We recommend handling the panel by its edges and using an anti-static mat during installation.

Fair tech for price, good specs for era, serves the purpose. The black keyboard is an interesting rubber like texture clearly by design to pad the screen and avoid the keyboard touching. Screen is great. Still looking for magic formula to enable computer use in the bright bright sunshine. Keyboard taps are loud for someone who likes silent touch. The perfect PC has to exist, like build a bear.
The laptop was sold with a warning about worn keycaps. In fact they had been obviously vandalised (ex school laptops, perhaps?). The keyboard worked fine, and the rest of the laptop too. I'm using it as a file server, so I don't need the keyboard much. So very pleased, and also pleased with reboot-it's service - as always, excellent, and quick responses to any queries.
