The Latitude 5400 is Dell’s mainstream 14-inch business machine, and the i7-8665U is the strongest processor offered in it. Four cores and eight threads to 4.8GHz handle heavy multitasking that dual-core ultrabooks of the same era struggle with — large spreadsheets, a dozen browser tabs and a video call at the same time.
With 16GB of DDR4-2667 and a 512GB NVMe solid-state drive, the machine is quick where it is noticeable: instant wake, immediate application launch, and no slowdown as a working session grows through the day. Memory sits in two SO-DIMM slots and can be taken to 32GB, and the M.2 drive is replaceable — this is a machine you can extend rather than replace.
Connectivity is complete for a desk or a site visit: HDMI and USB-C for external displays, three USB 3.1 Type-A ports, built-in Gigabit Ethernet for wired-only environments, and an SD card reader. TPM 2.0 and vPro round out the corporate security and management feature set.

Does the face login work with Windows 11?
Yes. The infrared camera is a Windows Hello device and is supported natively in Windows 11 Pro — enrol your face in Settings and the machine unlocks when you sit in front of it.
Is the battery replaced?
Batteries are tested, not automatically replaced. Grade A units hold 70% or more of original design capacity and Grade B units 50–70%. Every battery carries a 30-day warranty.
Can the memory be upgraded beyond 16GB?
Yes. The Latitude 5400 has two SO-DIMM slots and supports up to 32GB of DDR4. This unit ships with a single 16GB module, so a second can be added without removing the first.
Can I upgrade the SSD?
Yes. The 512GB M.2 NVMe drive is accessible under the base panel and can be replaced with a larger drive.
Does it have Wi-Fi 6?
Yes. This unit carries an Intel AX200 card, which is Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) with Bluetooth 5.0 — a step above the Wi-Fi 5 card fitted to most machines of this generation.
Is the touchscreen a pen display?
It is a capacitive touchscreen for finger input. No stylus is included and the panel is not an active-pen digitiser.
