This is a bare system board harvested from a working Tecra A50-F. It is the right repair part when the board itself has failed — a machine that no longer powers on, liquid damage that reached the board, or a unit with a perfectly good screen, keyboard and chassis that you would rather keep than scrap.
The i7-8565U is Whiskey Lake silicon and remains genuinely capable for business workloads: Office, browser-heavy research with dozens of tabs, video calls, and light photo editing all run comfortably. Four cores and eight threads give it real headroom over the dual-core i3 and Celeron options that Toshiba also shipped in this chassis, which makes a board swap worth considering as an upgrade path rather than just a repair.
Memory and storage stay modular. Fit your own DDR4 SODIMMs, an M.2 SSD and a wireless card to complete the build. Installation is a technician-level job — transferring the board into the chassis, reconnecting the display, battery, antennas, speakers and I/O, and reapplying thermal paste. We recommend fitting by an experienced repairer.

Which models does this board fit?
The Toshiba / Dynabook Tecra A50-F series. It does not fit the A50-C, A50-E or A50-J — those are different chassis generations with different boards.
Is RAM or storage included?
No. This is a bare board. It ships without memory, SSD, wireless card, heatsink or cables — fit your own or transfer them from the original machine.
Can I upgrade the CPU later?
No. The i7-8565U is permanently soldered to the board. Memory, storage and the Wi-Fi card are the user-replaceable parts.
Will this upgrade my Celeron or i3 A50-F?
Yes — the i7-8565U is the highest processor Toshiba offered in this chassis, so swapping in this board is a genuine performance upgrade as well as a repair.
Does it run Windows 11?
The i7-8565U sits just outside Microsoft's official Windows 11 processor list, so it is supported as a Windows 10 platform. It also runs Linux well.
Should I have it professionally installed?
Yes. Fitting a laptop system board involves full disassembly, reconnecting the display, antennas, battery and I/O, and reapplying thermal paste. We recommend an experienced repairer.
