What is a refurbished device?
A refurbished device is a pre-owned item that has been restored to meet high-quality standards. At Reboot IT, we adhere to strict quality guidelines, ensuring that our refurbished products are not the same as used or secondhand items. We meticulously clean, test, and assess each device, replacing worn parts with high-quality components.
Unlike used items, which lack guarantees and rely solely on the seller's word regarding condition, refurbished devices come with assurance of quality and reliability.

The Lenovo ThinkCentre A58 is a compact small form factor desktop built on the dual-core Intel Pentium E5400 with 4GB RAM and a 500GB hard drive. It ships with no operating system installed, which makes it a low-cost base for a lightweight Linux build, a kiosk or a legacy application host. Backed by a 12-month Reboot IT warranty.
It is worth being straightforward about what this machine is. The Pentium E5400 is a dual-core processor from 2009 running at 2.7GHz. It will not run a modern Windows desktop pleasantly, and it is not intended to. What it does do is run reliably, draw little power and cost very little to deploy.
The roles where it still earns its place are specific and real: a kiosk or signage player, a lightweight Linux terminal, a print or file server on a small network, a legacy application host that needs a serial or parallel port, a workshop or classroom machine where damage or theft would not matter, or a spare that sits in a cupboard until something else fails. With 4GB of RAM and a lightweight Linux desktop such as Lubuntu or antiX, everyday browsing and document work is genuinely usable.
The 500GB hard drive gives it more storage than the workload will ever need, which makes it a reasonable candidate for a small file or backup box. Fitting a cheap SATA SSD would sharpen it considerably if you want to push it further. Integrated Intel graphics drive a single monitor over VGA, and Gigabit Ethernet handles networking.

| Grade | Description |
|---|---|

What can I realistically use this for?
Lightweight Linux desktops, kiosks and signage, print or file serving on a small network, legacy applications that need old-style ports, or as a cheap spare. It is not intended as a modern everyday office PC.
Which operating system should I install?
A lightweight Linux distribution is the right answer — Lubuntu, Xubuntu, antiX or Debian with a light desktop all run well on a dual-core with 4GB. Modern Windows is not supported on this processor.
Will it run Windows 10 or 11?
No. The Pentium E5400 falls well outside Microsoft's requirements for both. If you need Windows, look at one of our Intel Core i5 desktops instead.
Can I fit an SSD?
Yes. A standard 2.5" SATA SSD with a mounting bracket drops straight in and will make a noticeable difference to boot and application load times.
Is a keyboard, mouse or monitor included?
No. This listing is for the desktop unit only. We can quote separately on refurbished monitors and peripherals if you need a complete setup.
What does the warranty cover?
The 12-month warranty covers all hardware components against defects and functional failures under normal use. Contact sales@reboot-it.com.au for a Return Authorisation if you need to make a claim.
What are the shipping arrangements?
Shipping costs apply based on size and destination — rates are calculated at checkout.
