Performance in use
The M227fdw suits a small office or home business that wants one reliable device for invoices, contracts and forms. Documents can be printed from laptops over Wi-Fi or the office network, copied or scanned from the automatic document feeder, and faxed where that is still part of the workflow.
Automatic duplex printing is handy for longer documents and keeps paper costs down. As a mono laser, it produces crisp black text that does not smudge, and it sits comfortably on a desk or cabinet.
At testing this printer had 12,300 pages printed. The black toner cartridge was at about 10 percent, roughly 300 pages remaining, and the imaging drum was at 50 percent. The M227fdw uses a separate toner cartridge (HP 30A or 30X) and imaging drum (HP 32A), so plan to fit a new toner cartridge soon after purchase.
