The HP Compaq Elite 8300 Small Form Factor is a proven corporate desktop built on the quad-core Intel Core i5-3470, with 4GB DDR3 RAM, a 500GB hard drive and a DVD-RW writer. It ships with no operating system installed, ready for Linux, a corporate image or your own licence. Backed by a 12-month Reboot IT warranty.

Does this come with Windows installed?
No — this unit ships with no operating system. It is compatible with Windows 10 if you hold a licence, and with most Linux distributions including Ubuntu, Linux Mint and Debian, all of which install cleanly on this hardware.
Will it run Windows 11?
Not officially. The Core i5-3470 is a 3rd Generation processor and falls well outside Microsoft's supported CPU list for Windows 11. Windows 10 or Linux are the practical choices.
Can I install from the DVD drive?
Yes. The DVD-RW drive is fully functional and will boot a Windows or Linux installation disc. You can also boot from a USB flash drive if you prefer.
Can I upgrade the RAM and fit an SSD?
Yes to both. The chassis has four DDR3 DIMM slots, and a standard 2.5" or 3.5" SATA SSD drops straight in. Both upgrades are inexpensive and straightforward.
Does it support two monitors?
Yes. DisplayPort and VGA outputs run two displays at once. A DisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter works if your monitor only has HDMI.
Is a keyboard, mouse or monitor included?
