What is a refurbished device?
A refurbished device is a pre-owned item that has been restored to meet high-quality standards. At Reboot IT, we adhere to strict quality guidelines, ensuring that our refurbished products are not the same as used or secondhand items. We meticulously clean, test, and assess each device, replacing worn parts with high-quality components.
Unlike used items, which lack guarantees and rely solely on the seller's word regarding condition, refurbished devices come with assurance of quality and reliability.

The transmitter half of an HDBaseT HDMI extender pair. It takes an HDMI signal from a source — a laptop, media player, PC or camera — and sends it over a single Cat6 cable to a matching receiver up to 70 metres away at 1080p. Ideal for driving a projector or display mounted well away from the source. Backed by a 12-month warranty from Reboot IT. Please note: the power adapter is not included with this unit.
HDMI has a hard distance problem. Past about 15 metres a passive cable starts dropping out, sparkling, or failing to handshake at all — and the failure is usually intermittent, which makes it maddening to diagnose. An extender pair solves it by converting the signal to run over twisted pair, so the physical link becomes ordinary Cat6 with RJ45 on both ends.
In practice this transmitter sits at the source: plug HDMI in from the laptop, lectern plate, media player or PC, and run one Cat6 cable out to the receiver at the display. Because it uses structured cabling, an installer can use the existing wall points and patch panels rather than pulling a bespoke run — which is often the difference between a half-hour job and a day of ceiling work.
Two practical notes. Use solid-core Cat6 and terminate it properly — extenders are far more sensitive to marginal cable and patch leads than a normal Ethernet link, and most faults trace back to the cabling rather than the hardware. And run the link point to point: the cable carries HDBaseT, not Ethernet, so it must go directly between transmitter and receiver and must not pass through a network switch.

Anyone without a matching receiver — this is the TX half only 4K or HDR sources — this link carries 1080p Running the signal through a network switch — it must be point to point Cat5e or marginal cabling over long spans Wireless casting — this is a wired extender Short runs where a plain HDMI cable would do Buyers needing a working unit out of the box — no adapter is supplied |
| Grade A — Excellent | Excellent to very good cosmetic condition. May carry light scratches or other minor blemishes from normal service. Fully tested and functionally as-new. |
| Grade B — Good | Good cosmetic condition with more visible wear, scuffing or marking to the casing. Function and performance are unaffected and testing is identical to Grade A. |
Cosmetic grading describes the casing only. Every unit, whatever its grade, is tested to the same standard and carries the same warranty.
Is the receiver included?
No. This listing is the transmitter (TX) only. You need a matching receiver at the display end for the link to work — we list the receiver separately.
Can I run the Cat6 through my network switch?
No. The cable carries an HDBaseT signal, not Ethernet. It must run point to point directly between the transmitter and the receiver, with no switch, hub or router in the path.
Will it do 4K?
No. This extender carries 1080p (1920 × 1080). If your source and display are both 4K and you need that resolution end to end, choose a 4K-rated extender instead.
What cable should I use?
Cat6 or better, solid core, properly terminated. Extenders are much less tolerant of marginal cable and cheap patch leads than ordinary Ethernet — most reported faults turn out to be cabling rather than hardware.
Does it pass audio as well as video?
Yes. HDMI carries embedded audio alongside the video, and the extender passes the HDMI signal through to the receiver.
Is a power adapter included?
No. This unit is supplied without its power adapter, which is reflected in the price. You will need to source a compatible supply separately before the extender will operate.
What is shipping and delivery like?

Seventy Metres From One Cable
Passive HDMI is only reliable to roughly 15 metres. A single Cat6 run carries the signal to 70 metres, covering almost any room, hall or lecture theatre.
Built for Projectors
The classic case is a ceiling-mounted projector 20 metres from a lectern or rack with only Cat6 between them. This transmitter sits at the source end of that link.
Uses Structured Cabling
Runs over the Cat6 already in the walls instead of a bespoke HDMI pull through conduit, which is often the difference between a half-hour job and a day of ceiling work.
Buy Only the Half You Need
Sold as a single TX unit, so a failed transmitter can be replaced without paying for a complete kit. The matching receiver is listed separately.
