The 08G20G2-08P is a compact managed switch from the Enterasys 800-series, giving eight Gigabit PoE ports plus SFP uplinks in a small, easy-to-place chassis. It is ideal for powering and connecting a small group of devices — a cluster of IP phones, a couple of access points, or a bank of IP cameras — at the network edge.
Despite its size it is fully managed: 802.1Q VLAN segmentation, QoS traffic prioritisation for voice and video, spanning-tree resilience, and 802.1X port security are all available. The SFP uplinks give flexible fibre or copper connectivity back to the larger network.
It suits branch offices, edge closets, small-site deployments and any location where a handful of PoE devices need managed switching without a full-size chassis. Management is available via CLI, web and SNMP.
