The Latitude 7420 is Dell's premium 14-inch business machine, and the i5-1145G7 with Iris Xe graphics is its most balanced configuration. Four cores and eight threads to 4.4GHz handle everyday business work easily, while Iris Xe gives it noticeably more graphical capability than the UHD-based machines of the previous generation.

Is the battery replaced?
Batteries are tested, not automatically replaced. Grade A units hold 70% or more of original design capacity and Grade B units 50–70%. Every battery carries a 30-day warranty.
Can the memory be upgraded beyond 16GB?
No — the Latitude 7420 uses onboard LPDDR4x memory soldered to the mainboard. 16GB is fixed, which is why this configuration is the one worth buying.
Can I upgrade the SSD?
Yes. The 256GB M.2 NVMe drive is accessible under the base panel and can be replaced with a larger drive.
What is the practical benefit of Iris Xe over UHD graphics?
Smoother multi-monitor operation, better video playback and enough capability for light photo editing. It does not make the machine suitable for gaming or 3D rendering.
Does it support docking?
Yes — Thunderbolt 4 over USB-C supports Dell WD-series and most third-party docks, carrying power, network and dual displays on one cable.
Is Windows genuine?
