Dell Latitude 7400 — 14" Touchscreen Business Ultrabook
A carbon-fibre 14" business ultrabook built for people who work away from a desk: quad-core Intel Core i7-8665U, 16GB of RAM, a 256GB NVMe SSD and a Full HD touchscreen, all under 1.4kg. Backed by a 12-month Reboot IT warranty.
Why this machine
-
Quad-core i7 in an ultrabook body — the i7-8665U runs 4 cores and 8 threads with turbo to 4.8GHz, so it handles heavy spreadsheets and 30-tab browser sessions without the fan noise of a thick workstation.
-
16GB RAM as standard — double the 8GB most ex-fleet machines ship with. This is the difference between comfortable multitasking and constant swapping.
-
Full HD touchscreen — a genuine 10-point touch panel, not a plain display. Useful for PDF markup, signing documents and touch-first Windows 11 apps.
-
Carbon-fibre chassis under 1.4kg — Dell's premium Latitude build. Noticeably lighter and more rigid than the plastic 15" machines in the same price band.
-
Backlit keyboard and fingerprint reader — type in a dim meeting room, and sign in to Windows Hello with a touch of the power button.
-
Camera privacy shutter — a physical slide over the webcam. No tape required.
Performance in use
For everyday office work this machine is comfortably over-specified. The i7-8665U is a 4-core, 8-thread chip with 8MB of cache that boosts to 4.8GHz, and paired with 16GB of RAM it absorbs the usual business load — Outlook, Teams, a large Excel model and a couple of dozen Chrome tabs — without the stutter you get from an 8GB machine. The 256GB NVMe SSD boots Windows 11 Pro in seconds and opens applications effectively instantly.
The touchscreen changes how you use it more than the spec sheet suggests. Scrolling long documents, marking up a PDF, pinching into a spreadsheet or signing a contract on-screen all become direct actions rather than trackpad work. Combined with a 180-degree hinge and a 14" anti-glare panel, it works well on a train tray table or in a bright meeting room.
Graphics come from integrated Intel UHD 620, which drives the built-in display plus two external monitors over the Thunderbolt 3 ports. That is ample for office applications, video calls, 4K video playback and light photo editing. It is not a gaming or 3D rendering machine — if you need discrete graphics, look at our XPS or Precision range instead.

Frequently asked questions
Is the screen really a touchscreen?
Yes. This unit has the factory-fitted Full HD touch panel — it is not a touch-capable option added later. Not every Latitude 7400 shipped with touch, so it is worth noting if you specifically want it.
Can I upgrade the RAM or storage?
The 16GB of memory is soldered to the board and cannot be changed. The 256GB M.2 2280 NVMe SSD is replaceable — you can fit a larger drive yourself, though doing so will require reinstalling Windows.
Does it come with a charger?
Yes, a 65W Dell-compatible AC adapter is included with every unit.
Is Windows 11 Pro genuine and activated?
Yes. Windows 11 Pro is installed and activated against the machine's digital licence. It is ready to use out of the box, and you can join it to a domain or Azure AD immediately.
How many external monitors will it run?
Two external displays alongside the built-in screen, via the two Thunderbolt 3 USB-C ports or the HDMI output. A single USB-C dock will drive a dual-monitor desk setup with one cable.
What is the battery like?
It has a 60Wh 4-cell battery. Grade A units test at 70% or better of original capacity and Grade B units at 50–70%. Batteries are consumable items and carry a 30-day warranty.
What does shipping cost?
Free standard shipping anywhere in Australia. Orders placed before 2pm on a business day are typically dispatched the same day from our Melbourne warehouse.
12-month warranty, and a real person to call
Every machine we sell is covered by a 12-month return-to-base warranty. If something fails, you deal with our own technicians in Melbourne — not an offshore call centre or a third-party repairer. Batteries, as consumable items, are covered for 30 days.
Each unit is stripped, cleaned, tested across every port and component, data-wiped to a certified standard and reassembled by our in-house bench before it is graded and listed. Nothing ships that we would not use ourselves.
