The memory is the whole story on this one. Business laptops overwhelmingly ship with 8GB or 16GB, and 16GB is genuinely fine right up until it isn't — the moment you start a virtual machine, open a dataset that does not fit, or run a memory-hungry line-of-business application alongside everything else, you feel it immediately. Is this really 64GB of RAM?
Yes. Two 32GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM modules are fitted, running in dual channel for 64GB in total. That is the maximum the Latitude 5530 platform supports, so both slots are used and there is no further upgrade available — or needed.
Can I upgrade the memory further?
No, and that is a good thing here. 64GB is the documented maximum for this model and it is already installed. The M.2 NVMe drive is replaceable if you need more storage.
Does 64GB make it faster?
Not directly. Memory capacity does not increase processor speed. What it does is remove a ceiling: with 64GB you can keep far more running at once — virtual machines, large datasets, many applications — without the machine falling back to disk. If your work hits that ceiling on a 16GB laptop, this will feel dramatically better. If it does not, a 16GB machine would serve you just as well.
Is this laptop new or refurbished?

Does it have a numeric keypad?
