Dell Latitude 5340 — 13.3" Full HD Touchscreen Business Laptop
A professionally tested and graded 13.3-inch business laptop built around Intel's 13th Generation Core i5-1345U, a 10-core vPro-capable processor, with 16GB of dual-channel LPDDR5 and a 256GB self-encrypting NVMe SSD, running Windows 11 Pro. It pairs a Full HD IPS touchscreen with Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 6E and a Full HD infrared camera with a privacy shutter, in a chassis light enough to carry all day. Backed by a 12-month warranty with free standard AU shipping.
Key Benefits
-
13th Generation 10-core Core i5-1345U: Intel's hybrid architecture pairs performance cores with efficient cores across 10 cores and 12 threads, turboing to 4.7GHz, with Intel Iris Xe graphics. It is a genuinely quick machine for office and professional workloads, and it is vPro-capable silicon for fleets that use Intel management.
-
Hardware self-encrypting SSD: The 256GB NVMe drive is an Opal 2.0 self-encrypting SSD, so data is protected in the drive controller itself rather than costing you CPU cycles to software-encrypt. For anyone handling client or patient data on a portable machine, that is the right way to do it.
-
13.3-inch Full HD touchscreen: A 1920×1080 IPS panel at 300 nits with an anti-glare finish, supporting direct finger input. Sharp, bright enough for a well-lit office, and touch makes quick work of forms, sign-offs and scrolling long documents.
-
Full HD infrared camera with privacy shutter: A FHD/IR camera so video calls look sharp and Windows Hello face sign-in is available, with a physical shutter to cover the lens when you want it covered.
-
Thunderbolt 4 and USB-C charging: Thunderbolt 4 handles single-cable docking and external displays, and the 65W adapter charges over USB-C — so a standard USB-C PD charger or a dock will power it too. One less proprietary brick to carry.
-
12-month warranty & free AU shipping: Every unit is tested, graded and covered by a 12-month warranty, with free standard shipping anywhere in Australia.
Performance In Use
The Latitude 5340 is a current-generation business machine in a genuinely compact body. The 13th Generation Core i5-1345U uses Intel's hybrid design — performance cores for foreground work, efficient cores for background tasks — across 10 cores and 12 threads, turboing to 4.7GHz. Combined with Iris Xe graphics and a fast PCIe NVMe SSD, everyday work is effectively instant: email, large documents, heavy spreadsheets, a browser full of tabs and a video call at the same time.
The 13.3-inch form factor is the point of this machine. It is the size you actually want in a bag, on a train tray table, or carried between meetings all day, and the efficient-core design means it is not burning battery to idle. The touchscreen earns its place here more than it would on a larger laptop — reaching up to scroll, sign or tap through a form is natural at this size.
Two things to know before you buy. The memory is LPDDR5 soldered to the board, so 16GB is what this machine has and always will have — that is plenty for office work, browsing and video calls, but if you run virtual machines or very large datasets you want a machine with SODIMM slots instead. And the chassis is WWAN-capable but was not built with a mobile broadband card, so there is no LTE and no active SIM slot; it connects over Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth or a dock's Ethernet port.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I upgrade the memory later?
No. The 16GB of LPDDR5 is soldered directly to the mainboard — there are no SODIMM slots, so 16GB is the permanent maximum for this machine. That is ample for office work, browsing, documents and video calls, but if you expect to need 32GB you should choose a model with socketed memory. The M.2 SSD is replaceable; note it is the shorter 2230 form factor, not 2280.
What does a self-encrypting SSD actually do?
The drive encrypts everything written to it in its own controller, using the Opal 2.0 standard. Encryption is always on and costs no CPU performance, and the drive can be cryptographically erased in seconds rather than wiped over hours. It works with BitLocker and with most enterprise management tools.
Is the screen really a touchscreen?
Yes — this is the Full HD IPS touch panel, confirmed against the unit's factory configuration and its hardware scan. The Latitude 5340 shipped in both touch and non-touch builds that look identical from the outside, so we check each machine individually rather than assume.
Does it have a smart card or fingerprint reader?
No. This unit was factory-built without palmrest security options, so there is no contacted smart card reader and no fingerprint reader. Windows Hello face recognition is available through the infrared camera, and the drive's hardware encryption handles data-at-rest security.
Does it have mobile broadband or a SIM slot?
No. The chassis is WWAN-capable, but this unit was not built with a mobile broadband card, so there is no LTE and no active SIM slot. It connects via Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth, or Ethernet through a dock or USB adapter.
How does it charge, and is a charger included?
Yes, a 65W USB-C power adapter is included. This model charges over USB-C rather than a barrel connector, so a compatible USB-C PD charger or a Thunderbolt dock will also power it.
How is the battery, and how long will it last?
This is a 54Wh 3-cell ExpressCharge-capable battery. Refurbished batteries are tested and graded, and a Good-grade unit is between 50% and 70% of original capacity, so expect meaningfully shorter runtime than a new machine. A 30-day battery warranty is included, and replacement batteries for this model are readily available if you want longer runtime.
