The Biamp TesiraFORTÉ DAN CI is a fixed audio digital signal processor built around Dante digital audio networking. It provides 32 x 32 bi-directional channels of Dante audio, 12 mic/line level analog inputs with Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC) on every input, and 8 mic/line level analog outputs, along with up to 8 channels of configurable USB audio for connecting directly to a laptop or soft codec.

Performance in Use

The TesiraFORTÉ DAN CI sits at the audio hub of a conference room, training space or distance-learning room. Twelve balanced mic/line inputs bring microphones and line-level sources into the processor, each with its own Acoustic Echo Cancellation, so voices stay clear on a call even while the room's loudspeakers are running. Eight balanced outputs feed loudspeakers, amplifiers or a house sound system, with each output on its own dedicated connection.

Because the unit carries a Dante network card, its 32 x 32 channels of digital audio can be routed to and from any other Dante device on the same network over a single Gigabit Ethernet connection, rather than running individual analog cable runs between rooms or racks. A second Gigabit Ethernet port is kept separate for Tesira system configuration and control, so control traffic does not compete with the audio network.

Where a room needs to join a video call or a softphone, the TesiraFORTÉ DAN CI's USB port streams up to 8 channels of USB Class 1 audio directly into or out of a connected computer, so the processor's mixing, AEC and level control apply straight to the softphone or conferencing app without an extra audio interface. An RS-232 port and 4-pin GPIO are available for third-party control systems, and a front-panel 2-line OLED display with capacitive-touch navigation gives on-unit status and basic control.

All routing, mixing, equalisation, filtering, dynamics and delay are configured in Biamp's Tesira software over the control network connection, giving an installer fine control over exactly how each input and output behaves in the room. The chassis is a 1RU rack-mount unit with an internal universal power supply, so it drops straight into a standard 19-inch equipment rack alongside amplifiers and other AV gear.
