The AP-205 is a solid medium-density workhorse. Chasing a 3×3 or 4×4 AP delivers little benefit when client hardware is 2×2, which the overwhelming majority is.

Deployment flexibility is the AP-205's strongest practical feature. In Instant mode, one AP takes the role of virtual controller and the rest join it, so a site of five or ten APs can run enterprise-grade Wi-Fi with no controller hardware at all. Larger sites can convert the same hardware to controller-managed operation later without replacing access points.
