The Netgear V7610 (Telstra Gateway Pro) is a high-performance VDSL2+ gateway with an integrated DSL modem and 802.11ac Wave 2 dual-band WiFi. Compatible with NBN FTTN and FTTB connections as well as legacy ADSL/ADSL2+ services, it features a Broadcom BCM4366 chipset delivering 4×4 MIMO on 5 GHz — making it one of the first 4×4 802.11ac VDSL gateways to market. This unit ships with a 12-month Reboot IT warranty.

Does this work with my NBN connection?

The V7610 is compatible with NBN FTTN (Fibre to the Node) and FTTB (Fibre to the Building) connection types, which use VDSL2 over the existing copper phone line. It is not compatible with NBN FTTP (Fibre to the Premises), HFC (cable), or Fixed Wireless connections — those require a modem that connects differently.

Do I still need a separate modem?

No. The V7610 has a built-in VDSL2 and ADSL modem — it connects directly to your phone wall socket (DSL port) and handles both the broadband connection and WiFi distribution. No external modem is required.

Will my ISP support this router?

The V7610 supports standard VDSL2 and PPPoE authentication used by major Australian ISPs including Telstra, Optus, TPG, and others. You will need your ISP username and password to configure the connection — standard procedure for any non-ISP-supplied router.

Fair tech for price

Fair tech for price, good specs for era, serves the purpose. The black keyboard is an interesting rubber like texture clearly by design to pad the screen and avoid the keyboard touching. Screen is great. Still looking for magic formula to enable computer use in the bright bright sunshine. Keyboard taps are loud for someone who likes silent touch. The perfect PC has to exist, like build a bear.

Works excellently as advertised.

The laptop was sold with a warning about worn keycaps. In fact they had been obviously vandalised (ex school laptops, perhaps?). The keyboard worked fine, and the rest of the laptop too. I'm using it as a file server, so I don't need the keyboard much. So very pleased, and also pleased with reboot-it's service - as always, excellent, and quick responses to any queries.
