Super DLTtape I cartridges are the standard media for first-generation SDLT tape drives. At 160GB native, a single cartridge holds a full nightly backup of many small to medium business file servers — and at 320GB compressed, it handles data-rich environments with significant compression potential.

DLT tape remains a trusted archival medium in enterprise environments due to its proven long-term reliability, offline air-gap protection, and low cost per gigabyte for cold storage. Unlike hard drives, tape is not powered continuously — it sits safely offline until a restore is required, making it an effective protection against ransomware and accidental deletion.

These cartridges are new and unused with full tape life available. They are compatible with HP StorageWorks SDLT 320 drives, Quantum SuperDLT and compatible drives that accept the SDLT I format.

Is this compatible with LTO tape drives?

No. SDLT cartridges are not compatible with LTO tape drives. They are physically different and electrically incompatible. Only use these in SDLT-specific drives.

What drives are compatible?

Compatible with HP StorageWorks SDLT 320 drives, Quantum SuperDLT 320, and other drives that accept the Super DLTtape I format. Always verify your drive's media compatibility before ordering.

How should I store unused tape cartridges?

Store in a cool, dry environment away from magnetic fields, direct sunlight, and humidity. Recommended storage: 16–32°C, 20–80% relative humidity (non-condensing).

Can these be used with my existing SDLT media pool?

Yes. These are standard HP Super DLTtape I cartridges compatible with existing SDLT media pools. They will initialise and label normally in your backup software.

What is the warranty?

All Reboot IT products include a 12-month warranty covering defective media. If a cartridge proves defective on first use within 12 months, we replace it at no cost.

Fair tech for price

Fair tech for price, good specs for era, serves the purpose. The black keyboard is an interesting rubber like texture clearly by design to pad the screen and avoid the keyboard touching. Screen is great. Still looking for magic formula to enable computer use in the bright bright sunshine. Keyboard taps are loud for someone who likes silent touch. The perfect PC has to exist, like build a bear.

Works excellently as advertised.

The laptop was sold with a warning about worn keycaps. In fact they had been obviously vandalised (ex school laptops, perhaps?). The keyboard worked fine, and the rest of the laptop too. I'm using it as a file server, so I don't need the keyboard much. So very pleased, and also pleased with reboot-it's service - as always, excellent, and quick responses to any queries.
