HP ZBook Firefly 15 G8 Mobile Workstation
A 15.6" ISV-certified mobile workstation built for professionals who need real graphics power without carrying a heavy machine. This one pairs an 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1165G7 with 32GB of DDR4 memory, a 512GB NVMe SSD, dedicated NVIDIA Quadro T500 graphics, an FHD touchscreen and built-in 4G LTE — all backed by a 12-month Reboot IT warranty.
The ZBook Firefly line is HP’s answer to a long-standing problem: traditional mobile workstations were powerful but heavy, while thin-and-light business laptops were portable but could not run certified professional software properly. The Firefly sits deliberately between the two. It carries the workstation credentials that matter — independent software vendor certification, professional-grade graphics drivers, TPM 2.0 security and a serviceable memory design — in a chassis closer in size and weight to a mainstream business ultrabook. This particular unit came out of Australian business service, and has been stripped down, tested component by component, cleaned and graded by our technicians in Melbourne before being listed.
Key Benefits
-
Certified professional graphics — the NVIDIA Quadro T500 is ISV-certified for CAD, BIM and creative applications, so AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks and Adobe run on drivers built and tested for them rather than gaming drivers.
-
32GB of memory in a thin chassis — enough headroom to hold large assemblies, multi-layer PSD files or a dozen browser tabs alongside a virtual machine without paging to disk.
-
Work anywhere with 4G LTE — an integrated Intel XMM7360 WWAN modem means a data SIM gets you online on site, in transit or at a client office with no tethering and no hunting for public Wi-Fi.
-
Touch-enabled Full HD display — the 15.6" 1920×1080 IPS touchscreen gives wide viewing angles for sharing a screen, plus direct manipulation for markup, redlining and design review.
-
Fast NVMe storage — a 512GB PCIe NVMe SSD boots in seconds and opens large project files far quicker than any SATA drive.
-
Full business connectivity — Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, Ethernet, HDMI, USB Type-A and USB Type-C all built in, so it drops onto an existing desk setup without a bag of adapters.
Performance In Use
The Core i7-1165G7 is a four-core, eight-thread 11th Gen Tiger Lake processor running at 2.80 GHz base and boosting to 4.70 GHz. That high turbo ceiling suits the way workstation software actually behaves — most CAD and modelling operations lean hard on one or two threads, and this chip is quick where it counts. Paired with 32GB of DDR4-3200, it holds large models and multiple applications in memory at once instead of constantly swapping.
Graphics are handled two ways. The dedicated NVIDIA Quadro T500 takes on viewport rendering, GPU-accelerated effects and anything requiring certified professional drivers, while Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics handles everyday desktop and video work at much lower power. The system switches between them automatically, which is why a machine this capable still behaves sensibly on battery during meetings and email.
In practice this is a comfortable machine for architects and engineers reviewing drawings on site, designers working across Illustrator and InDesign, analysts running heavy spreadsheets and Power BI models, and developers running containers or VMs locally. The 15.6" panel gives noticeably more working area than a 14" ultrabook while the Firefly chassis stays far lighter than a traditional 15" workstation.
Windows 11 Pro rather than Home matters more than most buyers expect on a machine like this. Pro is what allows the laptop to join a Windows domain or Azure Active Directory, which is how most workplaces manage devices centrally. It brings BitLocker full-disk encryption, backed here by the onboard TPM 2.0 module, so a lost or stolen laptop does not become a data breach. It adds Hyper-V for running virtual machines locally, Remote Desktop host support so you can connect in from elsewhere, and Group Policy controls for IT teams. On a machine carrying client work in the field, those are practical requirements rather than nice-to-haves.
The combination of the touchscreen and the built-in LTE modem changes how the machine gets used away from a desk. A site engineer can pull up a drawing on mobile data, mark it up directly on the panel with a finger, and send it back without ever finding Wi-Fi or tethering to a phone and draining its battery. The IPS panel matters here too — unlike cheaper TN screens, the colour and contrast hold up when someone is looking over your shoulder from an angle, which is exactly what happens when you are showing a client something on a job site or across a meeting table.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this come with Windows installed?
Yes. It ships with Windows 11 Pro installed and activated, ready to use out of the box.
What is the difference between the Quadro T500 and the Intel graphics?
The Quadro T500 is dedicated professional graphics with ISV-certified drivers for CAD and creative software. Intel Iris Xe is the integrated graphics used for everyday tasks at lower power. The laptop switches between them automatically.
Can I use the 4G LTE straight away?
The WWAN modem is built in and ready to use, but a data SIM is not included. Insert your own SIM from any Australian carrier to get online.
Can the memory or storage be upgraded?
Yes. The board has two SODIMM slots with one currently free, and supports up to 64GB total. The 32GB fitted is a single module, so a second matching module can be added later without discarding anything — and doing so also enables dual-channel memory, which measurably helps graphics performance. The NVMe SSD can also be replaced or upgraded.
Is the battery covered by the warranty?
Batteries are consumable items and carry a 30-day warranty. The rest of the machine is covered for the full 12 months. Battery health on every unit is measured and stated before listing, so you know what you are buying rather than discovering it later. If you expect long unplugged sessions, a replacement battery is an inexpensive and straightforward part to fit on this model.
What is included in the box?
The laptop, a compatible power adapter and cable, and a tax invoice with every sale.
How long does delivery take?
Free standard AU shipping is included and orders are usually dispatched within one business day from our Melbourne warehouse.
12-Month Warranty & Peace Of Mind
Every machine we sell is professionally tested, cleaned and graded before listing, and comes with a 12-month return-to-base warranty (30 days on batteries as consumable items). Free standard AU shipping is included.
Every unit passes through the same process before it is listed. Hardware is scanned and logged component by component, storage is securely wiped, battery health is measured against original design capacity, and each machine is assigned a cosmetic grade by a technician rather than a guess. Anything that fails goes to the repair bench or is stripped for parts — it does not get listed. That is why our condition descriptions carry specifics like measured battery percentages instead of vague phrases.
