The EliteBook 840 G7 is HP’s flagship 14-inch business machine, built to the same standard as the Latitude 7000 and ThinkPad X1 lines. The 10th-generation i5-10210U gives it four cores and eight threads — enough headroom that the machine still feels current for office work, browsing and video conferencing.
With 16GB of DDR4-2667 and a 256GB Samsung NVMe solid-state drive, it wakes instantly and launches applications without delay. Both the memory and the drive are user-accessible, so the machine can be taken to 32GB or a larger SSD later rather than replaced.
The differentiator here is the integrated 4G LTE modem. Most ex-fleet ultrabooks are Wi-Fi only; this one holds a connection in a car park, on a train or at a client site with no guest network. Combined with a 1.36kg chassis and TPM 2.0 security, it suits genuinely mobile work rather than desk-bound use.

Is a SIM card or data plan included?
No. The 4G LTE modem is built in and ready to use, but you supply your own data SIM from an Australian carrier. Any standard data plan will work.
Is the battery replaced?
Batteries are tested, not automatically replaced. Grade A units hold 70% or more of original design capacity and Grade B units 50–70%. Every battery carries a 30-day warranty.
Can the memory be upgraded beyond 16GB?
Yes. Unlike many ultrabooks of this generation, the 840 G7 uses replaceable SO-DIMM memory rather than soldered modules, and supports up to 32GB.
Can I upgrade the SSD?
Yes. The 256GB M.2 NVMe drive is accessible under the base panel and can be replaced with a larger drive.
Does it have a touchscreen?
No. This unit has a standard non-touch Full HD panel.
How does it compare to a Dell Latitude 7410?
They are direct competitors from the same fleet tier and generation. The EliteBook is generally preferred for its keyboard; this particular unit also carries 4G LTE, which is uncommon at this price.
