Perfect for work or play, the Acer 320GB 10.1" Aspire One D257 AOD257-1646 Netbook is a portable netbook perfect for students and mobile professionals. It's equipped with tools for work, multiple interface options, plenty of storage room for media, quality graphics and most importantly - it's very affordable.
The D257 is able to multitask efficiently, thanks to its Intel Atom Dual-Core N570 1.66 GHz Processor. The standard 1GB DDR3 SDRAM memory also enables smooth multi-tasking. Plus, it can be expanded to 2GB. For storage, the D257 is equipped with a 5400 RPM SATA hard drive with a 320GB capacity. Plus, the netbook's 5-in-1 memory card reader offers additional storage expansion and added flexibility. The D257's strikingly vibrant 10.1" WSVGA CrystalBrite active matrix TFT color LCD display features LED backlighting and a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution. The screen is supported by the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3150.
The D257 affords both wired and wireless Internet options as well. It supports LAN Ethernet through an RJ-45 port and WLAN wireless connectivity with 802.11 b/g/n WiFi compatibility. The netbook is also equipped with a VGA port for connecting to a larger external monitor if you need more screen space to work or play. Acer's D257 was also designed with three USB 2.0 data ports for connecting USB devices and external USB drives. Acer has adorned the D257 with several functional tools as well.
The keyboard features a multi-gesture touchpad, which acts like an enhanced mouse that supports multiple finger gestures - all of which make navigating the Windows 7 Starter (32-bit) OS and the Internet faster and more intuitive. Plus, for listening to music and watching movies, the Aspire One 722 has built-in stereo speakers, as well as a headphone jack for privacy. The netbook is also equipped with a webcam and microphone for videoconferencing or chatting with friends. Acer even designed the D257 to be Energy Star compliant. Plus, it comes with a 4400mAh capacity 6-cell lithium-ion rechargeable battery that has a maximum run-time of eight hours - making it great for work, play and travel.
