The Surface Go 2 answers a specific question well: what is the smallest device that still runs real Windows? At 544g it is closer to a large tablet than a laptop, and it fits places a 13-inch machine will not - a clipboard-sized bag, a plane tray table, a warehouse trolley, a lectern.
The Core m3-8100Y is fanless, so it is completely silent and has no vents to collect dust. It is not a fast processor by laptop standards and it is not pretending to be one - but with 8GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD, this is the configuration that handles Office, browsing, email, Teams and note-taking smoothly rather than struggling.
The 10.5-inch PixelSense display is sharp at 1920x1280 and uses the same 3:2 shape as the rest of the Surface range, which shows meaningfully more of a page than a widescreen panel. With a Type Cover it becomes a very small laptop; with a Surface Pen it is an excellent digital clipboard for inspections, forms and site notes.

Is this fast enough for everyday work?
For Office, browsing, email, Teams and note-taking with 8GB of RAM, yes. The Core m3 is a low-power fanless chip, so heavy applications, large spreadsheets or video editing are not what it is built for.
Is a keyboard or pen included?
No. The Surface Go 2 tablet is the core unit. The Type Cover keyboard and Surface Pen are separate accessories and are not included unless the listing states otherwise.
Does it run full Windows applications?
Yes. This is Windows 11 Pro, the complete desktop operating system, so standard Windows software installs and runs normally.
Does it have mobile data?
This unit is the Wi-Fi configuration. Microsoft did offer an LTE version of the Go 2, but this is not it.
Is it fanless?
Yes - the Core m3-8100Y needs no active cooling, so the device is completely silent and has no vents.
What is the battery condition?
Grade A units hold 70%+ of original capacity and Grade B units 50-70%. Both include a 30-day battery warranty.
