The E7250 is a compact business machine from Dell’s premium Latitude 7000 line, and the build quality is what still recommends it. The chassis is rigid, the keyboard is backlit and pleasant to type on, and at 12.5 inches it is small enough to genuinely carry everywhere — the sort of machine that suits travel, site visits and hot-desking.
The i7-5600U with 8GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD handles browsing, email, documents and web-based systems without difficulty. This is a fifth-generation processor, so it is not a fast modern laptop, but for straightforward day-to-day work it remains perfectly serviceable and represents a lot of build quality for the money.
It ships with no operating system installed. The processor predates the requirements for current Windows versions, so rather than supply it with unsupported software we provide it clean — which makes it an excellent candidate for a lightweight Linux distribution. Please factor in that you will need to install an operating system before use.

Why does it have no operating system?
The 5th Gen Core i7 does not meet the requirements for Windows 11, and Windows 10 is no longer supported. We supply the machine clean rather than with unsupported software.
What can I install on it?
A lightweight Linux distribution runs very well on this hardware and is our recommendation. It also suits organisations that apply their own standard image.
Is the keyboard backlit?
Yes. This configuration includes a backlit keyboard, which is tested as part of our grading process.
Is 12.5 inches too small to work on?
It depends on your work. It is excellent for travel and light office tasks, but if you spend all day in spreadsheets a 14-inch or larger screen will be more comfortable.
What is the difference between Excellent and Good?
Both are fully tested and functional. Excellent units show minimal marks and 70%+ battery health; Good units show more visible wear and 50–70% battery health.
