Performance in Use

A midspan injector sits between a standard network switch and a powered device. Plug the data cable from your switch into the injector, run a single cable from the injector to the device, and the device receives both network data and power — useful where there is no suitable PoE switch, or where a device needs more power than a normal PoE port provides.

The POE80U-560 is built for high-draw equipment. It supplies 56V DC at up to 1.43A over all four pairs of the cable, for a total of 80W, while still passing gigabit data. That rating matches the power injector Cisco specifies for its Aironet 1550 series outdoor wireless access points.

Its -40 to +55°C operating range suits comms rooms, plant rooms and cabinets that are not climate controlled. Before connecting, confirm your device is designed for 56V four-pair power: this is not a standard 802.3at or 802.3bt injector.
