The Cisco ATA 191 connects two analog phones, fax machines or paging devices to a SIP VoIP network through a single Ethernet port. Backed by a 12-month warranty from Reboot IT. Supplied as the adapter unit only — the power adapter is not included.
Most offices moving to IP telephony still have devices that only speak analog: a fax machine in accounts, a door phone at reception, an overhead paging amplifier in the warehouse or a cordless phone that staff rely on. The ATA 191 gives each of those a SIP identity on your phone system, so they keep working without rewiring or replacing the device.
Each of the two FXS ports is configured independently, so one adapter can serve a phone and a fax line side by side. For fax, T.38 relay handles transmission over the IP network, with G.711 pass-through available where your provider or call control prefers it.
The ATA 191 is designed for Cisco call control environments, registering with Cisco Unified Communications Manager or Communications Manager Express. It connects to the network with a single RJ-45 Ethernet cable.
