Apple iPhone 12 64GB Black — 6.1" OLED, A14 Bionic, 5G
The generation where the iPhone went edge-to-edge OLED and added 5G. The A14 Bionic still runs current iOS comfortably, the Super Retina XDR display is a clear step up from the LCD models either side of it, and the flat-edged aluminium frame with Ceramic Shield front takes daily handling well. Unlocked to any carrier, with a 12-month Reboot IT warranty.
Key benefits
-
A real OLED screen. 6.1 inches at 2532×1170 with true blacks and HDR support — the iPhone 11 it replaced used a 1792×828 LCD, and the difference is obvious the moment you see them side by side.
-
5G where it exists, 4G everywhere else. Falls back cleanly to LTE, so it works on every Australian network whether or not 5G has reached you.
-
A14 Bionic. The first 5-nanometre phone chip Apple shipped, and still quick enough for photo editing, navigation, banking apps and games years later.
-
Two 12MP cameras. Wide and ultra-wide, with Night mode on both and Dolby Vision HDR video recording.
-
MagSafe and wireless charging. Magnets in the back align chargers, wallets and mounts automatically; standard Qi charging works too.
-
Carrier unlocked, IP68 rated. Bring your own SIM or use an eSIM, and the handset is rated for 6 metres of water for 30 minutes.
Performance in use
The iPhone 12 sits at a useful point in the range. It has the design and display Apple carried forward for years afterwards — flat sides, uniform bezels, edge-to-edge OLED — without the price of a current model. Day to day that means apps open immediately, iOS animations stay smooth, and the phone handles the things people actually do most: messaging, maps, camera, banking, streaming and the occasional game.
The camera system is the part that has aged best. Both rear lenses are 12MP, both support Night mode, and Smart HDR 3 handles the difficult lighting that used to defeat phone cameras — a backlit face, a restaurant at night, a bright window behind the subject. Video records in Dolby Vision HDR, which is still uncommon at this price. The 12MP TrueDepth front camera drives Face ID and handles video calls in low light without turning grainy.
64GB suits someone who leans on iCloud or Google Photos rather than storing everything locally — comfortable for apps, messages and a rolling camera roll. The Ceramic Shield front cover is markedly more drop-resistant than the glass Apple used before it, and IP68 means a spilled drink or a walk in the rain is not an emergency.

Condition grades
| Grade |
What to expect |
| A — Excellent |
Minimal signs of use. Any marks are light and need close inspection to find. Screen free of visible scratches. Battery health 70% or better. |
| B — Good |
Visible cosmetic wear — scuffs or scratches on the frame or back, and possibly light marks on the screen. Fully functional and fully tested. Battery health 50–70%. |
Grading is cosmetic. Every handset regardless of grade passes the same functional test — cameras, Face ID, speakers, microphones, sensors and charging — before it ships. Batteries carry a 30-day warranty.
Frequently asked questions
Is it locked to a carrier?
No. It is fully unlocked and works with any Australian network. Insert your SIM or activate an eSIM and it connects.
Can it use two numbers at once?
Yes. This is the Australian model, which takes one physical nano-SIM plus one eSIM, so you can run a personal and a work number on the same handset.
Will it still get iOS updates?
Yes. The iPhone 12 is supported by current iOS releases, and each handset is delivered restored to the latest version it will run.
What battery health should I expect?
70% or better on Excellent, 50–70% on Good. Battery health is measured on every handset before listing and carries a 30-day warranty.
Is it locked to an iCloud account?
No. Every handset is fully erased, removed from Find My and reset to factory state before it leaves our workshop.
What comes in the box?
The handset and your tax invoice. Apple stopped including a charger and earphones with the iPhone 12, and we do not supply used accessories.
How is it shipped?
Free standard AU shipping, tracked, from our Melbourne workshop. Orders placed on a business day are usually dispatched the same or next business day.
12-month warranty, and a real workshop behind it
Every handset we sell carries a 12-month warranty covering hardware faults, with a 30-day warranty on battery health. If something goes wrong, you deal with the same Melbourne technicians who tested the phone — not an offshore call centre.
Reboot IT has been refurbishing business IT in Melbourne since 2001. Every device is data-sanitised to a documented standard, functionally bench-tested and cosmetically graded before it is listed. Free standard AU shipping is included. reboot-it.com.au
