This is a straightforward office monitor doing a job it does well. At 21.5 inches and 1920 x 1080, it lands on the sweet spot for desk work: large enough to hold two documents side by side or a spreadsheet at a readable zoom, small enough that it does not dominate a standard desk or need you to turn your head to read the corners. Text is sharp at native resolution, which is where any LCD should be run.
The dual VGA and DVI inputs are more useful than they first look. Plenty of workplaces still run equipment — thin clients, point-of-sale terminals, machine controllers, older Optiplex and ThinkCentre desktops — where VGA or DVI is the only output available, and monitors that still carry those ports are getting harder to find. Having both means this screen slots straight into that hardware, and a cheap HDMI-to-DVI or DisplayPort-to-DVI adapter covers anything modern.
Being clear about what it is not: this is a TN-panel office display from LG's value E-series, so viewing angles are narrower than an IPS screen and colours shift if you look at it well off-centre. The stand tilts but does not raise, lower or swivel. It is a 60Hz panel with no HDMI or DisplayPort and no built-in speakers. None of that matters for spreadsheets, email, browsing, coding, reception counters or a second screen — and all of it matters if you are grading photos or gaming. Buy it for the former and it is excellent value; buy it for the latter and you will be disappointed.

Does this monitor have an HDMI port?
No. The E2242 has VGA (D-Sub) and DVI-D inputs only. If your PC or laptop outputs HDMI or DisplayPort, an inexpensive HDMI-to-DVI or DisplayPort-to-DVI cable or adapter will connect it without any loss of picture quality at 1080p.
What cables are included?
The monitor ships with its stand, a power lead and a video cable. If you need a particular cable type — VGA or DVI — note it with your order and we will match it where we can.
Does it have built-in speakers?
No, this model has no speakers and no audio input. Use your PC's own speakers, a set of desktop speakers, or headphones plugged into the computer.
Can I adjust the height or rotate the screen?
The supplied stand tilts forwards and backwards but does not raise, lower, swivel or pivot to portrait. If you need full adjustment, a monitor arm or riser is the usual solution.
Is it tested for dead pixels?
Yes. Every screen is powered on and inspected for dead or stuck pixels and backlight uniformity, and both video inputs are confirmed working, before the monitor is graded and packed.
Is it suitable as a second screen?
Yes — that is one of the most common uses for it. Most desktops and docking stations can drive a second display over DVI or VGA, and a 21.5-inch Full HD panel pairs well alongside a laptop screen or an existing larger monitor.
How is it shipped?
Monitors are bulky items, so shipping costs apply based on size and destination — rates are calculated at checkout. Orders are packed and dispatched from our Melbourne warehouse with tracking emailed to you.
This monitor is covered by a 12-month Reboot IT warranty. If a covered fault appears within that period we will repair or replace the unit, and you deal with our team directly rather than an overseas call centre.
