A single-socket Dell 1U rack server with an Intel Xeon E3-1220 v5, 8GB of ECC memory and two 1TB hard drives on a PERC H330 RAID controller. Supplied with no operating system and backed by a 12-month warranty from Reboot IT.

Performance in use

The PowerEdge R230 is Dell's entry-level single-socket rack server. With a Xeon E3-1220 v5 and 8GB of ECC memory it suits small business roles such as a file and print server, a domain controller, a backup target or a dedicated application server, as well as firewall and router appliance builds, lab hosts and test machines.

Two 1TB SATA drives on the PERC H330 RAID controller give you mirrored storage for an operating system and data. Dual onboard Gigabit Ethernet ports connect it to your network, and iDRAC8 Enterprise lets you reach the console, power the server on or off and check hardware health remotely, without standing at the rack.

It is supplied with no operating system, ready for your own Windows Server licence, a Linux distribution or a hypervisor. This unit powers on with healthy status lights.
