Dell 0WTRD1 10GbE SFP+ SR Transceiver

The Dell 0WTRD1 (WTRD1) is Dell's own 10 Gigabit Ethernet SFP+ short-reach optic, the module Dell lists for the SFP+ ports on its PowerEdge servers, PowerSwitch and PowerConnect switches and PowerVault appliances. It is a 10GBASE-SR transceiver working at 850nm over links of up to 300 metres, with a duplex LC connector for a standard fibre patch lead. This module carries the OEM label PLRXPL-SC-S43-811. It is inspected by our team in Melbourne before it is listed and is backed by a 12-month warranty from Reboot IT.

  • 10 Gigabit Ethernet. A full 10GbE link from a single SFP+ port.

  • Hot-pluggable. Insert or remove it from a live SFP+ port.

Performance in use

An SFP+ SR optic is the standard way to run 10 Gigabit Ethernet over fibre between switches, servers and storage in the same building. Plug the 0WTRD1 into an SFP+ port, connect an LC duplex patch lead, and the link runs at 10Gb/s at 850nm over distances of up to 300 metres. Dell lists this part for its PowerEdge rack and tower servers, its PowerSwitch N, S and Z-series and PowerConnect switches, and its PowerVault DL, DR and NX appliances, which makes it a like-for-like spare or an easy way to add a 10GbE uplink to Dell equipment. Both ends of a link need a matching short-reach optic.
