Avaya 9608G IP Deskphone (700419195)
A Gigabit-capable Avaya 9608G IP deskphone supplied with handset and stand. Built for Avaya Aura and IP Office environments, with eight line keys, a monochrome display and full-duplex speakerphone.
Key Benefits
-
Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports: the phone sits inline between the wall port and a PC, so a single desk drop serves both without a second cable run.
-
Eight line or feature keys: each with a dual-LED indicator, giving a busy user direct access to lines, extensions and features.
-
Full-duplex speakerphone: both parties can speak at once without clipping, which makes short desk-side conferences workable.
-
Monochrome backlit display: a clear, high-contrast greyscale screen — readable and durable rather than decorative.
-
Power over Ethernet: draws power from a PoE switch, so no desk power adapter is needed on a PoE network.
-
Handset and stand included: supplied ready to deploy rather than as a bare unit.
Performance in Use
The 9608G is the workhorse of the Avaya 9600 range — the model organisations buy in volume for general staff desks. It is designed for call handling rather than for looking impressive: eight line keys, hard buttons for the functions people actually use, and a display that stays legible under office lighting.
The dual Gigabit ports matter more than they sound. In an office where each desk has one network outlet, the phone passes full Gigabit through to the computer behind it, so deploying phones does not mean re-cabling or adding a desk switch.
It is a controller-dependent device: the 9608G is intended to register to an Avaya call platform such as Aura or IP Office. It is not a standalone phone and will not work by plugging it into a generic broadband router without a compatible system behind it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will this work on any phone system?
No. The 9608G is designed to register to an Avaya call platform such as Aura or IP Office. It is not a standalone or generic broadband phone.
Is the display colour?
No. The 9608G has a monochrome greyscale backlit display. The 9611G is the colour-screen model in the same family.
Does it need a power adapter?
Not on a PoE network — it draws power over Ethernet. A separate power supply is required if your switch does not provide PoE.
Can I connect my PC through the phone?
Yes. It has two Gigabit ports so the computer can share the same desk network outlet at full Gigabit speed.
Is the handset included?
Yes. This unit is supplied with the handset and the desk stand.
Is a network cable included?
No. Patch cables are not included unless stated.
What are the shipping costs?
Shipping costs apply based on size and destination — rates are calculated at checkout.
