The listing says the battery needs replacing — what does that mean?
The battery in this unit has degraded to the point where it no longer holds a meaningful charge. The laptop works perfectly when plugged into mains power, but will not run on battery alone. A replacement battery (ASUS B21N1818 or compatible) is available online for approximately $30–$50 and is straightforward to replace.
Does it come with Windows installed?
No — this unit ships with no operating system. You can install Windows 10 or 11, or a Linux distribution. Windows licences can be purchased separately online.
Is 64GB eMMC enough storage?
For light use with cloud-based apps, yes. A microSD card slot is available to expand storage. For heavy local storage needs, a larger SSD laptop would suit better.
Can I upgrade the RAM?
No — the RAM is soldered to the motherboard on the E410MA and cannot be upgraded. 4GB is the fixed amount.
What ports does it have?
USB ports, MicroSD card slot, HDMI output, 3.5mm audio jack, and barrel-connector charging. There is no USB-C on this model.

Just having trouble greeting it linked to the internet otherwise it’s okay.
Fair tech for price, good specs for era, serves the purpose. The black keyboard is an interesting rubber like texture clearly by design to pad the screen and avoid the keyboard touching. Screen is great. Still looking for magic formula to enable computer use in the bright bright sunshine. Keyboard taps are loud for someone who likes silent touch. The perfect PC has to exist, like build a bear.
The laptop was sold with a warning about worn keycaps. In fact they had been obviously vandalised (ex school laptops, perhaps?). The keyboard worked fine, and the rest of the laptop too. I'm using it as a file server, so I don't need the keyboard much. So very pleased, and also pleased with reboot-it's service - as always, excellent, and quick responses to any queries.
