The APC Smart-UPS SMT1500RMI2U is a 1500VA / 1000W line-interactive rackmount UPS with pure sine wave output, automatic voltage regulation (AVR), and an LCD status display in a 2U 230V chassis. Professionally graded by Reboot IT.

Sold as-is on the battery and outlets. The unit powers on, but the fitted battery is old and non-working (red battery warning light) and its capacity could not be tested. The outlets are also untested. Budget for a replacement battery (APC RBC7 or compatible) — no runtime is guaranteed.

The Smart-UPS SMT platform is a workhorse for comms rooms and server racks: line-interactive topology with AVR rides out sags, surges and brownouts, and the pure sine wave output keeps sensitive active-PFC power supplies happy. The LCD and optional SmartSlot network card make it easy to monitor and manage.

Important — battery and outlets: this particular unit is sold as-is on its battery and outlets. It powers on from mains, but the existing battery is old and non-working (red battery light) and its capacity could not be tested, so it will not provide backup runtime as supplied. Plan to fit a replacement battery pack (APC RBC7 or a compatible cartridge) to restore runtime. The output outlets have not been tested.

Fair tech for price

Fair tech for price, good specs for era, serves the purpose. The black keyboard is an interesting rubber like texture clearly by design to pad the screen and avoid the keyboard touching. Screen is great. Still looking for magic formula to enable computer use in the bright bright sunshine. Keyboard taps are loud for someone who likes silent touch. The perfect PC has to exist, like build a bear.
